My Charge 2 won't charge past 80%.  I have reset it and tried removing it from the charge and putting it back.  Nothing works to get a full charge. Thoughts?

Hi @CharlieUNC, welcome aboard! Thanks for taking the time to restart your Charge 2. Let me ask you something, are you using a USB hub? These may not provide enough power to charge the fitbit. I suggest you to try other USB ports on your computer or use another USB power source such as a wall charger you use for your phone.

Let me know how it goes!

I have been using a power strip that has a USB port. I have also tried
using an iPhone charge and get similar results. yesterday i kept removing
it and putting it back into the Fitbit charger and it finally charged
full. That was a good 2 hrs after i first started charging it.

Thanks for getting back to me @CharlieUNC! I appreciate the efforts, however, this is not a normal behaviour of the Charge 2, or any other tracker. It should properly charge without inconvenience as soon as you plug it into the charging cable. So, if this continues, I suggest you to get in touch with our Support team and let them know about this. They will choose the best solution to help you out with this inconvenience.

Hi Charlie,

I was just wondering how you had been getting on with your Charge2 and getting it to charge past 100%.

Mine has started doing the same thing and I'm charging it direct from my Mac and up until last week - it always charged to a 100%.

Thanks,

Bev

Bev, they had me do a number of things such as clean the charging contacts
and try using different USB ports. None of that worked.

Mine was still under warrenty so they are going to replace it.

Good luck.

Hi @LovesterUK, I hope you are doin' fine! Have you tried to charge your Fitbit with different USB ports? if so, could you please try to restart it? after that, let me know if your Fitbit fully charges.

@CharlieUNC, Thanks for the update! I appreciate you are sharing the tips that Fitbit Support suggest you to try. Since those steps didn't work, it is cool to hear that they will replace your Charge 2.

Keep me posted guys!

I have the same problem. My Charge 2 will not charge above %80.

This is from a USB charger plug attached to the wall.

Clearly this is a common fault. Any suggestions?

I have only had this since Christmas Day.

Yes thanks for the reply . My point being that it appears to be a common fault. The new one may just do the same.

Hey @meowdmucker, let me give you a warm welcome to the Community! Robot Happy Is it happening the same thing when you plug it into the USB port of your computer? Have you tried to restart your Charge 2 and then try to charge it again to see if it fully charge? If you already tried that, and the issue persists, I suggest you to get in touch with Fitbit Support directly. I'm pretty sure that you'll get a solution for this.

@CharlieUNC, thanks for the update! I knew that our support team will help you out with this. 😉

I've been doing some playing around and charging my Fitbit Charge 2 in different locations and through different devices, and this is what I have discovered.

I have two charging cables - one for work (which is bought as an addition), and one at home (the one that came with my Fitbit).

When I charge it at work, the lead is plugged directly into the back of my iMac. It charges to 80%, and the battery bar when fully charged does become solid but the bar only goes as far as 80%.

I've tried restarting it several times when it is plugged into my iMac, and restarts and then continues to charge but again doesn't get further than 80% (interestingly today it got to 84%).

When I charge it at home, it is plugged into a USB power adapter that is plugged into a wall socket. At home, it will sometimes charge to a 100% and other times to 95%. Again if I restart the unit, it just charges back up to either 95% or 100%.

I'm finding the battery is lasting around 5 or 6 days. So at the moment, it's not an issue that I'm not getting a full charge but just intriguing that it doesn't fully charge, and does vary depending on the lead!!

Hi @LovesterUK, how are you today? 🙂 Let me ask you a couple of things. Is immediately after you sync with your Android device when you see  that the battery is at 80 - 85%, right? because on the tracker, the battery appears full, correct? Since when are you having this inconvenience, that it doesn't seems to be fully charging? Since you first set it up?

Keep me posed! 😉

Hi Heydy.

When I check the tracker - after I disconnect it from the lead, it tells me that the battery is at 80 - 85% (this is me scrolling through the tracker to get to the battery indicator).

At this point in time, I haven't synced it with my Android phone.

However, with you mentioning it, I have just synced it with my phone. My phone tells me that my tracker is full and now when I check the battery indicator on the tracker, it's now telling me it's at 95%...

Very strange!!! Cat Surprised

I have similar issues with my tracker not being able to charge in full. It charged for over 3 hours. I tried restarting the device, changing the USB port from the wall, and it stayed not as full. I then synced the device to my iPhone, running the latest version of Fitbit app, it tells me that my Fitbit battery is full. However, on the device display itself, it shows 85%, as it had in last hour or so. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks!

Hi guys! It is great to see ya' around @Sherrblue and @LovesterUK! Let me ask you one more thing, when you charge your Charge 2, can you see the solid battery icon saying that it is fully charged or you keep looking the battery with the lines inside of it like if still charging?

Keep me posted!

Thanks for your reply! For me, the Fitbit never showed itself as fully charged with solid battery indicator, and just kept showing the battery bar with lines (as if still being charged).

Don't get a new one even if you have warranty because I got my Charge 2 yesterday and it won't pass 80% just try using a different wall plug.

Hi @Sara_N, let me give you a warm welcome to the Community! 🙂 I need to ask you the same. On the tracker itself, did you get the battery totally covered in white? this means that it is fully charged. If not, did you try to restart your tracker? If so and still not pass 80%, what happened when you used a different USB port? did you get your Charge 2 fully charged?

Keep me posted!
