Got a Charge 2 for Xmas, went to fitbit com/setup and created account. Tried to pair the Charge 2 to my desktop computer (Windows 10 & Bluetooth 4) but the pairing fails. When I go to Bluetooth it finds the Charge 2 OK and is ready to pair but I get the failure message that the pairing hasn't worked as the device is not discoverable.

Have you tried with the Dongle that came with the Charge. If the computer was setup and syncing to the Charge, it should sync with the Charge2

Thank you for your suggestion it was helpful!I finally set up the Charge 2 with my Samsung pad. Then went to the pc and put the dongle in, turned off the Bluetooth had success. However the ONLY way it will update is if I turn off the Bluetooth each time. This is not only annoying it is unacceptable. I would go back to my old Charge if the band weren't broken and Fitbit can't replace with a new one. Hopefully Fitbit will find upgrade the Charge2 to work with Windows 10 Bluetooth in the future.

If your using a dongle, the easiest way to reset Bluetooth is to remove and reinsert the dongle.
Make sure the ipad is not nearby or that it's Bluetooth is off.

It will still only work with Bluetooth off. When Bluetooth is on it searches for the Charge and Charge2 even though I have removed the Charge from my account. Crazy, huh?

Your making no sense now, turning bluetooth off and saying it syncs is like saying i cant walk through a doorway unless the door is closed.
Now anout 5ye other trackers, removing them from your fitbit account, will not remove them from the phone or computer. This needs to be done on the Bluetooth settings screen.

I uninstalled the fitbit app and reinstalled it. I also have to turn off the bluetooth and use the dongle which came with my old fitbit charge. This isn't a problem for me as I don't use the bluetooth for anything else on my pc. Hope this helps!

Let's make sure that the Fitbit software is up to date.
First thing I'm assuming that if the phone is also being used to sync that it is at least 30 feet away, or it's Bluetooth is turned off. Doing this will insure that the tracker will be visible.
Second thing to try is a restart of the Charge 2 http://help.fitbit.com/?q=restart
Now try a restart of the computer, better yet would be shutting down the computer.

I have been having a similar problem. On one computer ( a Dell) my Charge2 successfully paired the very first time through the Bluetooth screen and then properly syncs through the Windows 10 app. On the new laptop computer (an HP), no such luck. I get the same failure screen shown above where the computer sees it but just won't pair. I can use the old dongles from the Fitbit One and make the appropriate changes to allow it to use the Dongle, but that is a clunky way to do things.
No problems indicated with Bluetooth on the Windows 10 HP.

@STrooper since tye Charge 2 was setup to your account on the old computer, there is no need to set it up again on the new computer.
Simply log into the Fitbit app and the app will try and sync. Was there an error message?

The pairing worked perfectly fine with my I phone. It took less than 10 minutes.

Good to see that this is a very common issue, I have put in a few Emails to support , and have tryed all the recomendations to no avail. I do not have an IPhone so I can not try that, so seeing it worked with one person here I suppose fitbit only wishes Apple to be able to down load this app?
I will say support is not very good , and because my unit is over 45 ddays old there is no refund , there should be a t a 1 year if the unit fails , but as to date they have not offered to replace the unit. I have been using the fit bit since Feb 2014 , and as I mentioned support not much help,> I think fit bit is no longer looking for repeat bussiness . Very unhappy with the charge 2

@gtdaly the 45 day window is for returning a fitbit bought directly from fitbit for a refund if you are unhappy with the purchase. This is separate from the warranty which applies to fitbits bought from fitbit and authorised dealers. The warranty runs for 2 years from purchase if you are in Europe, and 1 year from purchase if you are elsewhere.

What OS?
Does it have BT 4.0 or better?
You mention that you dont have an iPhone, but how about an Android or Windows phone?

The only way I could get my Charge 2 to pair with my HP desktop was to use the dongle and turn off the bluetooth. That works for me as I don't use the bluetooth anyway. Perhaps it's an HP problem and not a Windows 10 problem. Don't know just thankful I got it to work!

I think it must be an HP problem and the way they implement the Bluetooth. I've turned off the other Bluetooth syncing devices (new Samsung phone, my Dell laptop). The HP "sees" the Charge2, just won't pair to it through the onboard Bluetooth implementation either through the app or just through the Windows10 setting. As I said, I can install the dongle and put it into classic mode and get it to connect.
I usually use the phone to download data. The computer(s) provide a back-up if the phone was unavailable.

THANK YOU! 2 sessions with the tech support people didn't get me anywhere. Turning the bluetooth off on my HP with Windows 10 and using dongle solved the problem 🙂

I have the same problem with the same laptop device and op sys. But I have no dongle. It wasn't provided with the Charge 2. Terrific nuisance.
