Got a Charge 2 for Xmas, went to fitbit com/setup and created account. Tried to pair the Charge 2 to my desktop computer (Windows 10 & Bluetooth 4) but the pairing fails. When I go to Bluetooth it finds the Charge 2 OK and is ready to pair but I get the failure message that the pairing hasn't worked as the device is not discoverable.

This worked for me. My Samsung Bluetooth seemed to have priority over the sync process. Windows 10 Fitbit would not sync with the tracker. But. . .Windows 10 is synced with the phone. So, at night, I sync the phone with the tracker, then click on Windows 10 Fitbit to sync with the phone. I removed the bluetooth device from the usb port. No longer needed if I do the sync this way.
TRUTHFULLY, this problem is caused by incompetent programmers. They could do better. I am a 34 year programmer who has seen lazy programmers doing just enough to get by.

@PrRonnie it really is not that your phone has priority, the allways connected setting and the notifacations keep your tracker bounded to the phone. This bonding will prohibit a second device from connecting to the tracker. This is a limitation of the Bluetooth protocol, and explained in Fitbit's help site

Thanks. Since I really didn't need to pair with the phone, I did a 'force stop' on the app on the phone, plugged the Bluetooth back into my PC. Then something good happened. . .Windows 10 pop up for fitbit came up asking to pair with the PC. Clicked yes. I'm back in business. Note: I didn't care to see info on my phone throughout the day. I just wanted to make sure the pc recorded everything at the end of the day.

I'm having the same issue. My bluetooth setting pickes it up but then tells me to connect the unti.

Sorry, my scenario is different from others. I realized that the phone sync is not needed unless I go on vacation. I have a laptop that stays on 24hrs. I don't have the fitbit dongle. I use a Bluetooth by some other company. This next suggestion does not apply to me but while looking at the Fitbit advanced settings, I set 'Fitbit connect classic mode' to 'force sync with dongle'. The Fitbit app knows I don't have the dongle. Might help someone who does. I suggest reading other blogs to hopefully find your answer. Good Luck!

My husband had the same problem after we got a new computer (Windows 10). His old Charge HR wouldn't sync. Spent 75 minutes on the phone with a Fitbit rep, and they decided they couldn't resolve the issue. Offered us a new Charge HR or 50% off another product. He chose the Charge 2, yet had the same trouble. Spent another 90 minutes on the phone, same results. Very frustrating. Read here that a new dongle might help. Called the help desk for the 3rd time to request a dongle, and truly the third time was the charm. Here is what she had me do that the others didn't.
On my dashboard, there is a little box in the upper right hand corner that looks like a credit card. Clicked on that and a new screen pops up that shows my name, device, and 'Set up a Device". Scroll down to the bottom of the screen to Advanced Settings. Click on that. Find Fitbit Connect Classic Mode. Click on that. Look to see that Classic Mode is turned ON. Then set up the device.
This worked for us. Hope it does for you

That is the first adjustment that has worked without turning off the bluetooth on my computer. Thank you!

When syncing through a computer the Charge 2 Classic is not needed to be paired. This is only used for controlling music on the Android and Window phones.
Now if you have had the Cyarge 2 connected to your phone, then before trying to pair the Charge 2 fo your computer, please turn off the phone or at least it's bluetooth if the phone is nearby. See this doc.
Now if you need to use tye fitbit dongle, plug it i to the computer and let Win 10 discover it, and install the proper drivers. If you don't need tye Fitbit dongle skip this step.
Now do the pairing if the Charge 2 to the Win 10 computer by following these instructions.
Go here for troubleshooting setup problems.

Couldn't get my new Charge 2 to pair to my Windows 10 computer (HP all-in-one) the first time I tried. (I am using a dongle which I plugged in after I installed the app.) I followed the basic setup instructions that appeared on the screen after the Fitbit app was installed, but when it came to the pairing step, it failed and couldn't find it ... just kept spinning. After I had already setup my new Fitbit account in accordance to the instructions (and did the email message confirmation step), I did some research and found the Grandmothergoos post. I followed the instructions in that post and it paired right away! Thanks so much for posting this information, Grandmothergoos.

I have tried all of these things. And as much as i wish i could just sync with my mobile i have a G6 and well... We all know what that means. Syncing through my dell was my last option ive tried everything and have been frustrated to tears. And you people are no help at all repeating yourselves over and over again

This has got to be the worst piece of software I've ever used. It's unbelievable that after over a year of problems Fitbit hasn't fixed the problems. I have many Bluetooth devices and have never had this kind of problems.
Fitbit, if you are serious about quality in your products you need to fix this ASAP. Stop blaming others and fix your software just as everybody else has. This kind of BS makes me wonder what kind of quality your products have overall and undermines the confidence I thought I could place in you to help me to track my physical activity.
I'm returning my Charge 2 and will looking at buying a Garmin which a friend tells me works really well on Windows 10.

if your trying to sync through the computer and also have synced through the phone. Make sure the phones Bluetooth is turned off.. A Bluetooth device attached to one unit, will not be able to talk to a second unit.

Switching from Charge HR to Charge 2 and tried all the above on my win 10 pc. Finally turned off my bluetooth on the pc, plugged in my dongle (from the Charge HR), and it worked.
