Charge 2 won't read heart rate

My Fitbit charge 2 has stopped reading my heart rate.

The green lights wont even turn on when I turn the heart rate settings to “on”.

I have tried resetting it but it still does not work!

How do I get my Fitbit to read my heart rate again?

I had the same problem start in mid-May, heart rate stopped reading. I tried all of the troubleshooting instructions found on this website, contacted customer service who had me do some more troubleshooting, then told me my Fitbit Charge 2 HR is no longer under warranty (purchased Dec. 2016), but that they would give me a discount towards a new tracker. I would like to purchase a new Fitbit, as I did not have many problems up until now, but I don't want to buy a whole new set and strap and charger, I only want to buy the pebble. I have six straps for it already and my charger works fine. I may end up buying a pebble on eBay.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Ryan96! Thanks for already taking the time to troubleshoot this inconvenience with your heart rate, nice way to start! Smiley Very Happy

While reading your post I was wondering if the heart rate is the only thing you're missing? Are you still able to sync other data (steps, floors, etc.)? Are you still receiving notifications? Does your tracker still vibrate?

I'd like to start saying that your tracker can have difficulty finding a signal, typically due to the tracker's fit. For example, wearing your band tightly may constrict blood flow in your wrist and affect the signal. We recommend experimenting with how high you place the tracker on your wrist. When you're not exercising, wearing the tracker just above the wrist bone--as you would a watch--typically works fine. However, moving the tracker up a couple inches can be helpful during high-intensity exercises or exercises that cause you to bend your wrist frequently. If you haven't already done so, please review our recommendations for wear and other tips shared by @SantiFitbit

If you're wearing the tracker correctly and the heart rate setting isn't turned off, try changing the setting (either Auto to On or On to Auto) once more and then syncing your tracker. The change won't take affect until you sync. If heart rate still doesn't appear after the sync, try restarting your Charge 2 once again by making sure you're following these steps and wait at least 60 seconds before checking heart rate again.

If you're still unable to see your heart rate on the display, please let me know if you can see the green lights flashing on the bottom of your tracker again or if they're still missing too.

Ping me out, I'll be around!

The heart rate is the only thing that is not working on my Fitbit, everything else is working fine!

It’s nothing to do with how I’m wearing it on my wrist I’ve had it for 6 months with no problems whatsoever. However now the green light on the back of my Fitbit is never on so it doesn’t read my heart rate.

I have turned the heart rate on the setting on and also to auto but this hasn’t worked either.

I left my Fitbit alone for ten days or so, then tried charging it overnight, then resetting it three times in a row, and synced it and it works now! Well, I still don't have HR capabilities, but the main thing for me is to count my steps.

Yeah, eventually my Fitbit stopped working completely. I purchased one used and it works great.

Hi,

I've reset it, turned from auto to on etc, used all the guides on the page. Still no bpm. Just '--'

Anything you can suggest would be great.

Hi Maria,

I'm having the same problem as everyone else on this forum. But because the HR monitor no longer works, it doesn't track my calories properly nor does it track my sleep. Is there any way to fix this? I've tried all that you have suggested. It just stopped working.
