Has something happened?  Fitbit was sync'ing regularly and then suddenly, beginning January 1......Nothing!

Hi AlvaroFitbit,

Yes, my phone is compatible and yes, my windows 10 laptop is compatible. I uninstalled the app on both my phone and laptop, disconnected the fitbit from the bluetooth on both phone and laptop, and "forgot" them. I then reinstalled the app  on my laptop, assuming I would get the latest version, if that was an issue. I reinstalled the app on my phone. I then paired the device with both my phone and laptop, with the bluetooth. It took an absolute age for both the laptop and phone to actually "find" the device. When it did, they both paired with it ok. I then restarted both phone and laptop and opened the apps on both. i did this separately, not at the same time because i got a message saying unpair or disconnect the fitbit from any other devices because windows will not pair or connect with fitbit.

I went into the account settings on both phone and laptop and all I got was a message that said "looking for tracker" and the little green bar at the top of the screen stayed as a little dot and didn't go all the way across the screen like it was "loading" a file and then it timed out. I tried "hundreds" of times over the course of almost a week to get the thing to sync.

Your advice, welcome as it is, did nothing to solve the issue with syncing. I had already tried everything you suggested. And why wouldn't my laptop or phone suddenly not be compatible when it has been fine all along and been syncing fine? I ended up connecting the fitbit to the charging dock and the usb into my laptop, opening the app and pressing the button on the left hand side of the fitbit until  it vibrated and I saw the fitbit logo. As if by magic, it then took about 30 seconds after saying, searching for tracker and syncing...to sync. Only...half my data was missing or corrupt from the non-synced period.

Everything worked well for about a week then on the 13th January, it failed to sync AGAIN for about a day or so but it's syncing now as far as i know.

This issue happens more than I care to mention only this time around, it's been the longest stretch of non syncing activity and after nearly a month of this, trying to figure out a fix for a product that's not working as it should, I'm frustrated and disappointed and I'm at the stage where I'm quite happy to abandon fitbit, having been with you and your products since 2012 and try something else. I like Fitbit, I like the products and the accuracy of the tracking but I hate the constant issues with either the band breaking at the clasp where it connects at the watch face or it not syncing.

I have also encountered the same frustrations; no sycing for weeks despite following all of the suggested remedies to no avail. That's the end for me. The hassles are not worth it. I've wasted a LOT of time on this matter and I had enough. I've got another brand of tracker & my one year old $270 Fitbit is being consigned to the bin.

You know, I'm pretty much at that stage too. Out of interest, what alternative did you end up going with and how is it working out? I ask because the market is flooded with different products and I'm always searching for something different. I have in mind that I'm going to go for something beginning with "S" (*amsung!) but even they have several products I can't decide on.

Same question for Judiannabella.....what did you select and how well does it meet your expectations?

(BTW, dId anyone notice that AlvaroFitbit either did not bother to read the several detailed posts preceding his highly-informative suggestions, or in the alternative, could not understand what had been written?)

Now again, I've just got it to sync, which it hasn't done since 15th Jan

My Charge 2 is syncing on two PCs (Win 10) and Android phone since yesterday.

Before I had the same problems like pretty much everybody with old and replacement devices since January 12.

WOO-HOO!  I was having the same problem again.  For no apparent reason it just quit sync-ing.  I happened to find the thread where I had contacted Customer Service and there they were.  My step by step instructions!  I repeated the process and BAM!  Sync-City!

It still works, but it's a little tiring to have to go back and re-launch it frequently.  It would be nice if Fitbit would provide a "Force Sync" button on the dashboard..... I'm jes' sayin'!

My charge 2 all of a sudden stopped syncing on my PC and says can't find tracker, yet records partially the calories expended for the day and nothing else. Have latest update.  Reinstalled app again...still no syncing. Made sure still on my blue tooth pairing list.   What is the issue?  remedy?  What else can I do? My husband's still works ok on his PC but slow to do at times and needs a few attempts.  Was working great and now this. THX for any help.

Hi, I'm having weird problems too, like the map of my walk either not appearing at all or as a red dot or a red line. Has stopped recording my sleep some days. Charge 4 is in the marketplace now so I've put it down to planned obsolescence at worst or just plain getting old. Sorry I can't provide any practical help.

Honestly, I gave up on Fitbit completely last year. I got so sick of all the non-syncing issues and having to replace straps that broke for no reason other than being made cheaply and Fitbit's lackluster customer service that wasn't interested in addressing any of the issues.

I went with Garmin. Bought a Fenix 5 and have not looked back

I think I'll  change too.  I had to reinstall it many times and now it wont even let me do that .

What I find particularly galling is that instead of a firmware update to fix the low power sync issues that are endemic with ALL Fitbit devices, all Fitbit can be bothered to do is release an app update that supplies a message and links to a Help page when a manual sync inevitably fails.

It's almost like they're 'flipping the bird' at users - tacitly acknowledging a systemic flaw in their product but only offering workaround solutions a response that could legitimately be characterised as "We know there's a problem, we can't/won't fix it, here's some things you could try".

When I have to spend up to AN HOUR EVERY DAY trying to get the pesky little pebble to behave as per specification and connect to my phone there is bitter irony in Fitbit trying to persuade me to use a Mindfullness add-in to manage my stress levels when their useless piece of kit is the predominant cause of stress in the first place!

It has been a year since I was able to get my wife's Charge 2 to sync.  I DID have a method to "get around" this problem and I posted it here a couple of years ago but someone named "MathewFitbit" has apparently "edited for clarity" my post, thereby removing the post.  My wife is driving me crazy because I can't get the **ahem**ed thing to work!  Has Fitbit just abandoned the Charge 2 platform?  Can anyone help me???
