Charge 2 wont connect to phone or app has yet to be solved

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've had my Charge 2 unused for a few months due to the band being broken since around June 15th. I got a new one and was surprised it said to update the tracking software but it wouldn't do anything but say the Charge 2 was unable to connect.

I went through and tried:

  • Bluetooth on/off
  • Restarted the Charge 2
  • Restarted my phone/app
  • Checked the phone was Android v7+ /app was up to date
  • Uninstalled and reinstalled the app

And after all of this, the Charge 2 still wont connect. I've tried all the things I am capable of doing, I am unsure if I am just doing the things wrong, or if it's just my phone just being out of date(i checked it shouldn't be). If anyone has any idea what is going on Id love to hear!

Adding an update::

The problem still arises even after the newest update that came out this last few days. I am thankful so many of you are trying to help! So far no luck however I am hopeful that it will be fixed soon!

As it has been pretty much a year and no method has actually helped Im going to assume this is a problem on Fitbits end as Ive already gone through 3 phones during this, all better than the last and nothing has changed. If anyone else has an issue Id suggests just getting a Samsung watch as they do more and you can get proper help for them.

Hi @C_J_Coard  can't connect? There was a new Fitbit app for iOS released. Be sure you have the latest version installed.

I have the same problem since the latest update off the fitbit app. Been on holidays and tried it before and one or two time got a connection. Since I am back the app doesn't find the charge 2.

Hi everyone, nice to see you all on the Community! Thank you for your comments and information.

I'll be glad to help you further.

@Odyssey13 , nice to see you back. Thank you for your help and information.

@Onka @C_J_Coard , please go to your Fitbit app, tap on your profile picture, if you see your Charge 2 listed there, it means that it is still paired to your account. Then please have a look a this article

If you see an exclamation mark in red, it means that your device needs a firmare update. Then please refer to this article.

If you cannot see the Charge 2 listed in the Fitbit app please follow the steps described below.

@CheyWilliams , thank you for the description of the steps performed. This list was very helpful.

There is only one thing missing.

Please perform these steps, some you have already done, but the order is important:

  • Restart your Charge 2.
  • Please on the phone, go to Settings> Bluetooth, and remove all the connections that exist with the tracker . (Forget device, ignore or unpair depending on the version of the operating system of the phone)
  • Turn off the Bluetooth and restart the phone. (switch off and on again).
  • When the phone is back on, turn the Bluetooth on again, but DO NOT attempt to connect to the tracker from here.
  • Go on the app. From here, try setting up the tracker as a new device.
  • If you are using a Wifi connection, please try with mobile data.

Please let me know how it goes.

Sadly no, as this was what I did yesterday, and tried again now, it just gets to the 4 digit connection screen, trys to connect and the "Not working?" screen comes up with 3 things to do that I did for hours yesterday with no results.

Hello

charge 2 was last synched on oct 12. On that day, i updated my iphone 7 and ipad mdl MP2F2CL/A to ios 13.1.2. I've tried all the recommended steps to restart the synching to no avail on both the iphone and ipad When i tried the step to add a new device, i get the msg turn on bluetooth to allow fitbit to connect to accessories but the bluetooth is on.

I am having the same issue with my Charge 2. Went through the whole troubleshooting checklist. Even had a chat session with someone from the support team, nice person but couldn’t fix the problem. I have been a Fitbit devotee for years and I know that my devise is “older,” however, I am very frustrated with not being able to use my Fitbit.

Is there any ETA for a fix?

I de-installed the app and reinstalled it and all is working now. Why is it that Fitbit support is not proposing that option ?

I uninstalled the app and it keeps sayin the Bluetooth is not on, but the Bluetooth IS on. Phone keeps spinning but the Fitbit is not recognized.

My Fitbit couldn’t recognise my iphones Bluetooth signals after IOS update. All re ommended resets, reboots, turning on and off did not good. But I’ve just reinstalled the Fitbit app and now it’s all working again

That’s a shame as reinstalling the app sorted it for me
