Band keeps detaching from watch - it feels like it snaps back into position but doesn't stay there long - getting scared to wear it now as it keeps falling off - bought in September

My Fitbit 2 wristband broke but I do not see any small screw to try tightening. Please post a picture of what the screw looks like and where it is located.

Thanks

A TORX screw - Probably a T-4 or T-5A TORX screw - Probably a T-4 or T-5

A TORX head screw - probably a T-4 or T-5. I have a set of TORX drivers but they only go down to a

T-6 and that is just a bit too large.

I have had the same problem twice with the wristband failing to attach securely to the body of the watch. In my opinion it is not a problem with tightening the screw, but is due to the fact that the band breaks at its weakest point which is were the thickness of the securing piece is minimal (on the photo sent by tetvet look above to the right and left of the arrow). If there was a way to strengthen this part, maybe this would help resolve this problem.

I have the same issue too, and have friends who had the same issue as well with their wristband. It seems like very poor quality for the wristand and a good way to get people to spend more and have to buy replacement parts.

Purchased a Charge 2 from Kohls December of 2018 the band went bad in April of 2019. Today January of 2020 the band is bad again. The problem is the Fitbit latch is bad and it falls off. Fitbit replaced the band in April of 2019 but will not replace what I consider to be defective due to the fact it did not last a year. A supervisor by the name of Chanel is taking this stance all over a six dollar part which I can see many people have had the same problem. I would not recommend any of this companys product  to anyone. Poor management decision.

I bough a replacement from eBay and it is brilliant. Hasn't failed yet and had it over a year.

Hello Heather

Thanks for your reply. My point of posting on the forum was hoping someone from corporate looks at it and others that have been dissatisfied and steps up to the plate and fixes there internal problem. We will see if I get a response to the survey they requested from me. It was not positive. Thank you again and I will let you know if they do.

I bought some cheap imitations of the Fitbit band, at 3 for $10. I gave one
to my daughter, and one for me. They have lasted over a year so far with no
problems. I shouldn't have had to do that. When the Fitbit itself fails I
will not be replacing it with another Fitbit. I'll look elsewhere. I agree,
poor management decision to not replace defective merchandise.

I am giving up with my fitbit, first the band and now it won't sync. Fitbit says my phone is not compatible but it is the same phone I have used the whole time.

Not happy with fitbit - don't think they should be selling such a product that seems to have so many problems

I am really disgusted and disillusioned with my charge 2. The band was constantly disconnecting, and after filing a complaint, I was sent new bands. This worked for a while, but then my fitbit disconnected, but I heard it hit the ground. Yesterday, I tried to check my steps and my fitbit was gone. Coincidentally, I told my daughter what happened, and she said hers fell off in the store that very day, but she retrieved it. Needless to say I won't buy another. It's terrible to have pay such a high price for such poor workmanship!

Hello DianejoyceI would like to thank you and everyone else that replied to my post. As I hope you have noticed we are not the only ones that have had this problem. I will keep everyone posted if I get a response to my negative survey sent to Fitbit. Since I have seen so many people have been having the same problem and if I get no response from Fitbit I will consider contacting the BBB.  Thank you again.Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

The only solution that I've found is to use Gorilla tape. Seriously. Yeah, it's far from perfect, but at least when the band separates from the face, it's still semi-attached to my wrist. I really, really, really do not understand why Fitbit has not addressed this issue in a professional way -- i.e., resolved it when people first started complaining about it, rather than choosing to ignore it. Not cool, Fitbit.

Thanks for the suggestion. However, the fitbit fell off, and was never found. I won't be getting another one.

I started having the same problem with the wristband not staying in place about two to three weeks ago.  I've been unable to either tighten it (I don't have a small enough screwdriver) or find replacement bands.  I bought the watch from 'Game' in East London, South Africa. Any suggestions where I could look for replacement bands?

Good morning,
I purchased a replacement band through Amazon (US store) and so far (6
months) it's still tight. The problem really is a design flaw, in my
opinion, since the lateral supports are thin compared to the rest of the
bands.
Sincerely

Same as above post: purchased $12.99 replacement band on Amazon in early February.  Not only works perfectly 4 months later, it also looks and feels better.

Go onto eBay. I got ones that have been brilliant and much more secure than the Fitbit ones.

Howdy all - sorry to hear so many people with Charge 2 (and others) band attachment issues. One would think that FitBit would be able to come up with a better design / material.
