I have posted about this problem before. The last time when I posted about it, I asked if someone could please check why this could not be shut off. Then it magically disappeared. And now as of yesterday, it’s BACK! When I check off "NO THANKS" as a reply to this inquiry it should effectively turn off this message, yet it now pops up every single time I open my tracker app OR change pages OR bring it back from minimization. It is getting to be really, really annoying and I would like to see if you guys can shut this off. I don’t mind a reminder happening once a month or so but having to shut this off every single time is starting to get on my nerves.

Hello @Kathy129. It's great to see you around.
I'm very sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for the information and for taking the time to provide your feedback. I know how you're feeling about this constant prompt and let's work on this together. Just to confirm, do you have the same issue when using another app that requires location services? Are the location services settings also changed by themselves after getting the prompt? In the meantime, let me recommend trying the following steps:
I look forward to your response.

Hi WilsonFitbit,
Ti answer your questions, I am not having the same issue with other apps. The location service fir FitBit is not resetting itself automatically. I am simply declining the offer to change my settings, yet the message pops up every single time I open the app or navigate away from the app homepage.

I already have my location services set to "never". What if I don’t want to set my location services to "while using the app"? That is the whole reason why I am declining the offer to change my settings. I just don’t want to be reminded about it every time I open the app. What if I want to use “never” as my setting?

@Kathy129 Thanks for your reply and the detailed information.
I understand how you are feeling and I appreciate the feedback provided. I'd like to let you know that I've investigated and it's required to set the Location Services to "Always" on your iOS device whenever you're going to use MobileRun or Connected GPS. If you're not going to use those features, you can leave the location services off or never but it is possible that the prompt will continue appearing.
I'm sorry for any inconvenience and please note that any feedback posted in the forums is always welcome as it helps to improve our products, services and overall environment.
See you around.

Hi I’m having the exact same issue. I have taken the app entirely off of my phone and redownloaded it. The pop up remains. I do not want location services on because the GPS tracking drains my battery and also because I don’t want it on. I always answer no, and the pop up returns even screen to screen within the app. I have been a dedicated Fitbit user for *years*. This pop up over the last month or so is making me consider leaving the brand. I understand Fitbit wants to make money off the data collected but user experience has to count for something.

Wilson
Thanks so much for posting an honest reply to this issue. This seems to be a common issue which I annoying huge numbers of Fitbit customers. There are multiple instances of the same question all over the forum and this is the only useful and straightforward reply I can find.
I’m not happy that the only way to get rid of the message is to change my settings to opt into something I don’t want to do. I’m a customer so am supposed to have a choice. (I won’t be changing my settings and unless a future app update gets rid of the message I guess I’ll get an Apple Watch instead).
Thanks though - I appreciate your honest answer to the question, as I now know that I can’t get rid of the message.

Update:
Thanks to another user I just found a solution in the settings on my fitbit itself (ie not the app).
On my charge 3 , I just went to ‘exercise’ then ‘run’ then turned off ‘use phone GPS’ and it worked!
