In chatting with Fitbit support, they recommended posting here a possible bug that the ‘Auto’ brightness on Charge 3 is reversed. I found it goes brighter in the dark and lighter when in a bright environment? . I also can produce making the display brighter by just making back of watch darker and/or placing finger on upper back sensors.
The Charge 3 ‘Auto’ brightness setting being reverse compounds the dim challenge.
