Will not soft/hard restart. Changing clock face does nothing. Screen black but still recording activity on app (I-Phone).
What else to try??

I have the same problem. Black screen or extremely dim when attached to charger.

I have the same problem. Blank screen, still counting steps, charging, vibrating when a message comes through. Reset does not work.

I tried the online chat for this problem. Gave me instructions for a long reset (below for your reference), which did not work - I didn't get past the first step . Unfortunately mine is just out of warranty, so I have no options. Seems like a major issue with the Charge3!
here are the steps for along reset:
While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15
The device will turn on, and it will show a battery icon. Two vibrations will occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
After that, the device turns off.
Then, the device will turn on and will show a progress bar. Some short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
Remove the device from the charging cable. The device will shut down.
It's important to plug the device into the charging cable again.
