My Charge 3 is counting floors I haven't climbed. I walked today, did aerobics and housework. No steps at all. Last count almost 160 floors! That is crazy. There is not a way to delete this inaccurate information either. Is anyone else experiencing this? Friday March 15 is when this appears to have started for me. I have a Samsung S10 phone.

Okay, so here we go again....
It seems as if the moderators keep on copy and pasting the exact same answer to every post about this problem. This is a well known issue and it has been reported over and over again.
See here: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Charge-3/Wildly-inaccurate-floor-count/m-p/3638984#M83885
I have suggested to merge all reports about inaccurate floors/stairs counting into one and keep customers updated about progression of solving the issue, instead of trying to “fix” it with a silly workaround.
@LanuzaFitbit can you do something about this?

Well I think the charge 3 soft ware must of changed in the last few months and my floor count is now just stupid and needs fixing yesterday I had a floor count of 340 should be about 20-30.Looking back for the last few months it had often 150 odd time over 200 . The tracker is on the verge of being useless. I would not recommend this tracker with the current software

Hi @Sivaelid,
It is most likely a hardware related issue. See the link in my earlier post: it sums up a lot of the issues other people found as well. I have had mine exchanged as a result of the wildly inaccurate readings. At first, it performed well and almost the same as my Charge 2. But after a while, it started to give floor counts that were just ridiculous. Some have suggested it is related to wearing the Charge 3 while swimming, bathing or even standing under the shower. It may be (but this is just guess work) that the sensor is no longer working correctly once water has affected the device. I first thought of it only being a matter of air pressure changes, but after having kept a record on temperature and air pressure to compare with the weird readings, I had to conclude it is a bigger problem than just that.
My suggestion: get in touch with support and work with them directly to see if your device can be exchanged. On this forum you will only find the standard copy and paste answers and a lot of ranting by customers that feel let-down by Fitbit.

I’m trying to delete the stairs climbed from my Fitbit charge 3 since I didn’t climb any stairs today. Yesterday I changed floors and it didn’t record anything. I tried to follow the process outlined for my Fitbit app and my dashboard. There is not a driving activity to choose. Plus it wouldn’t delete from my dashboard.

I've worn the same tracker for a significant amount of time. Recently it started counting floors that I am not climbing and in excessive numbers. There are no changes to my life or anybody else's life. There is a problem with the Fitbit software or firmware. I'm not sure where the answer lies but it is not with the air pressure change when we open a door.

@SunsetRunner - If you read some of the threads/posts on this forum, you will notice that this is a persistent issue, without a resolution other than an exchange of the device.
My exchanged Charge 3 is running fine for a couple of months now. I suspect that the altimeter can’t handle water. Until now, I kept it dry, whereas the previous device was on during swimming and showering. As others have indicated as well, this is the most likely issue. But none of us know for sure, since Fitbit is not sharing any info.

Wasted 250$ on garbage that has issues Fitbit doesn't want to address I guess

Hello. My charge 3 has been counting floors and steps that I did not make since I got it in June ‘19..
on the other hand, it does not count my elevated heartbeat when I am exercising.
I only find it reliable for counting calories consumed and sleep.

My charge 3 counts floors randomly, even when I was laid up after surgery and not even getting out of bed.

same(counting floors when i haven't climbed any) for me, since the day i bought it everyday. support gave generic resolutions, restart & all...today it also counted steps while i was sleeping. the device just seems to be highly inaccurate & pointless. my last band, miband4($17) performed better. i am inclining towards returning this back to costco...

Just FYI:
My Charge 2 worked as expected and gave plausible and consistent readings. Besides a "hike spike", where it counted stairs, when I was actually walking in the mountains, the misreadings started right after changing to the Charge 3. After I got my replacement, all went back to "normal". The image clearly shows the weird increase over time, even if it's showing averages.
Also:
I am yet to take the replaced Charge 3 for a swim. But very reluctant to try, since this could be in fact the starting point of misreadings in an otherwise functioning Fitbit device.
