8/14 Update: We are continuing to roll out the firmware update for Charge 3 and expect more users will see it as available. This is a progressive rollout, and all customers can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed. If you don't see the option to update, don't worry - you'll have it soon!
Please use this thread to share your experience updating the firmware once it's received. If you have a different inquiry, please post in a thread with a similar topic or create a new post.
7/23 Update: the firmware update has only rolled out to a small percentage of users, and will roll out further next week. It should be rolling out to everyone soon. Thanks for your patience and interest, we look forward to hearing your feedback on the new firmware.
We've begun releasing new firmware (1.88.11) for Charge 3 to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR CHARGE 3 FIRMWARE UPDATE: ALARMS CLEARED
We moved where you set alarms from the Fitbit app to your wrist! After you update, any alarms set will be cleared and need to set up again on the device.
To make sure you don't miss an important alarm, open the Alarms app on Charge 3 and tap *+ Set up a new alarm*. Tap the checkmark to save and make sure it’s set.

I've just received the notice for the update but it had trouble connecting to my Charge 3. Once I've corrected that, the update option just disappeared! How do I get it to come back?
I'm using Version 28.200001.63.5.
I'm using the Windows 10 app on my PC.

Holy jesus removing alarm setting from app was a monumentally stupid move. Put it back.

Frustrating. I agree. When I did the update, my screen went black and no type of reset is bringing it back. Disappointing again w Fitbit. Out fo warranty. Going for a different device this time.

They gave me a discount code to use when I ordered a replacement Charge 3 on October 3. It was past the warranty for a free replacement. They would not give me a discount on the Charge 4, which was fine, I liked my Charge 3 which had never given me a problem before this update somehow burnt out my display. It kept working after the update, and although my screen was fried, I could see my progress in the app. Now it is not tracking progress at all and is back to saying it cannot hold a charge. I did get an email on 8/11, saying my order was in. I have not received it as of yet.

Got the update, installation went smoothly. Agenda screen is very useful. So far so good.
Many feel the opposite, but I never used alarms as they were so inconvenient to set via the app only, so very happy to be able to configure them via the clock.

Hi. I’ve just received the notification re firmware update. I’m a little reluctant to carry out the update as when I did this on my charge 2 the battery life dropped to a few minutes and the device was unusable. Can you guarantee that this will not happen with this update as I have not even had my device for a year and do not want to replace it again. Thanks

Is the new firmware that bad?

Took mine a week to arrive, but it didn't matter, because that one doesn't work either! I've always had fitbit, but seriously looking into Garmin & Samsung now.

I've read that they pulled back an update before, maybe they pulled this one also. I hope it contains a fix for the stupid "No Device Found" nonsense for the Android platform. That is very frustrating because it'll work one second but not the next.
