8/14 Update: We are continuing to roll out the firmware update for Charge 3 and expect more users will see it as available. This is a progressive rollout, and all customers can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed. If you don't see the option to update, don't worry - you'll have it soon!
Please use this thread to share your experience updating the firmware once it's received. If you have a different inquiry, please post in a thread with a similar topic or create a new post.
7/23 Update: the firmware update has only rolled out to a small percentage of users, and will roll out further next week. It should be rolling out to everyone soon. Thanks for your patience and interest, we look forward to hearing your feedback on the new firmware.
We've begun releasing new firmware (1.88.11) for Charge 3 to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Charge 3 can be found here.
If you run into any trouble updating your Charge 3, please review these troubleshooting tips.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR CHARGE 3 FIRMWARE UPDATE: ALARMS CLEARED
We moved where you set alarms from the Fitbit app to your wrist! After you update, any alarms set will be cleared and need to set up again on the device.
To make sure you don't miss an important alarm, open the Alarms app on Charge 3 and tap *+ Set up a new alarm*. Tap the checkmark to save and make sure it’s set.

Anyway,
After Juan closed the chat, I have learnt that FB require all Android users to be running Android 10 else the system will not work.
Most Androids were updated on 1st June 2020. This could be many people's issue.
It isn't mine but I do have a new handset which isn't tested as suitable by FB so therefore the warranty is void!
Still chasing!

I think you looked over this.
You can also call and/or contact Support by Twitter. It looks like the email option is temporarely closed due to Covid-19 measures.

Can you please share the original information about this with all of us? The official Fitbit site only states that it has to be Android 7.0 or higher. So a link or a screenshot would be very helpful.
I am really very sorry to say this, but would you be so kind to stop spreading all sorts of rumors. Please inform yourself before doing so.
You are confusing a lot of people that are waiting for the firmware update, just like you are.

I dont think this is true at all my Charge 3 syncs perfectly and I use an older Samsung Android phone that only supports Android 7.

This is what mine is doing also. It shut off Friday night and hasn't came back on since then.

Hi Steve,
I chatted to the online guys earlier and they would not even think about changing my unit under warranty as my handset is apparently too new and not tested by them for app conformity.
Did you have any issues claiming under the warranty?

My year old Charge3 fitbit screen went blank after the update and remains that way. tried the 8 second restart and no luck. then executed the longer 15 second reboot process to no avail. the unit is syncing to my android phone and it vibrates when the screen is touched, but remains blank. also tried to change the clock face and restarted my phone. out of options that I can find on the forums.

Hi everyone. I'm glad to see you participating in the Community Forums.
Thanks for your continued reports and feedback about this new firmware update. As mentioned above, this is a progressive roll-out, meaning that everyone will receive it at different stages. Please wait until you're prompted to update your tracker in the Fitbit app. In the meantime, make sure the Fitbit app is updated and your Charge 3 is syncing.
@nosliwlirpa, thanks for your efforts while trying to update your Charge 3. Just to confirm, have you tried the troubleshooting tips from this help article? If not, please give them a try and keep me posted with the outcome.
@Aisha_H, @Dardarthriver4l, @bad4x4girl, @AmeeyBerry and @Alicia.K, thanks for sharing that the screen on your Charge 3 isn't working correctly. Just to confirm, did this start happening after updating to 1.88.11? Since you've tried restarting it, I'd recommend to try changing the clock face and perform a long restart as described here.
@VickiSueC, since your tracker isn't working after troubleshooting it, I've contacted our Support team so they can create a case and provide you with assistance via email. Please note that due to recent events affecting our operations there might be a delay in their reply, but they'll get in touch with you soon.
Just a small reminder, in order to keep the Community organized and to avoid misunderstandings, please make sure to reply back if you have questions about the Charge 3 Firmware update 1.88.11. Should you have other inquiries, I'd recommend to open a new thread so you can receive help from the Community.
I'll be around, keep me posted.

My fitbit started before update more then an month ago, and its not charging or syncing any more. If i connect it to the charger its lights up with the with black lines on screen. Spend days trying to sync. Still can not. It started when i had the app on my iPhone 8, now i changed to galaxy note 10 and its the same . I don't know how the phone app can make a deference .
I want to write an email directly to ft but there is no way to find it. I think just another waste of time and money, should though it a way and never go back to it. Here we are already so many with the same problems and I'm sure, much more who don't write here, have the same problems. And no one so far managed to fix it. Its my 4th fitbit in four years, its really frustrating.

I’m stuck on 1.63.5! There’s been 2 updates since then, my device won’t show any new updates. Is my device faulty??

Hi @WarwickS
No, your device is not faulty. Firmware update 1.63.5 is the last one until now.
Firmware version 1.88.11 is the next one and as from July 17th Fitbit is rolling it out progressively. This means not everyone will get the update at the same date, but it can take a week or more before everyone has it.
You will only be able to install it after you see a pink dot on the little envelop on the screen of your mobile app (on top right).

When you click on your device from your account section on the app.
on the top it will have a picture of the charge 3. It says when it was last synced and what version it’s running, does yours say the same as mine? Mine says 20001.63.5 ?

@WarwickS and @Shadow1961
Please see the post of @KateFitbit elsewhere in this platform and on the previous page in this thread:
Charge 3 firmware version 1.84.5 was only released to a small number of users currently using United HealthCare Motion. If you are not part of that program, you will not get an update.
I'll post a floated thread when the next firmware update affecting all Charge 3 users is released. You'll also get a notification in the app.
So your version 28.0001.63.5 is the last release.
