Charge 3 Not Recording Swimming Stats Correctly

I used my new Fitbit yesterday swimming for the first time swimming 2400 metres freestyle with one stop for less than a minute.....it took 54 mins.

However the stats showed I had swam only 1600 meters and it took 67 mins!

No. Still using the Charge 3. It is also less than satisfactory for biking-
does not measure distance!

No just recording times in phone and counting laps. Some days my fitbit counts more lengths than I do but on other days it is less.Confusing and annoying.JoSent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

I have an HR Inspire. It never records lengths correctly although usually only 2 or 3 lengths out (but today 10 lengths out). I know for sure that it is the fitbit that’s wrong as it will record an uneven number of lengths when I have swum an even number. I have tried making sure I tap end of pool with hand wearing fit bit - which slows me down).  I’ve restarted it as well. Pleas advise what you are going to do about this. I especially bought  this model as my exercise (other than walking) is swimming

I’ve called several times to Fitbit they don’t seem to be concerned. I’ve re started my Fitbit doesn’t make a difference. I also told them it does not properly record my heart rate which is what I wanted for swimming. No support = different watch for me next time I need one

definitely question sleep stats. I seem to spend half the night awake according to fitbit, rarely have REM sleep and virtually no deep sleep. Lots of light sleep thoguh. I should be a zombie.....

Exactly. Fitbit doesn’t care because the devices are still wildly popular. Not only does my Fitbit 3 not record swims correctly, it is also wildly inaccurate on bike rides. (Bike one way 100 calories, bike home exact same route and 300 calories! - can’t be right). Waste of money for anything other than steps in my opinion.

I have HR Inspire and it has exactly same problems. Sleep tracking I am sure can’t be right. It says I fall back to sleep when I lie in bed (awake) before getting up. I supposedly have very little REM or deep sleep (sometimes none of either) but am awake about 1 1/2 hrs during the night.

I do use the exercise/ swim tile but it never records laps correctly and like others my fitbit claims I burn only 4 calories every minute when I swim crawl quite vigorously.

Yes mine says that I swim more lengths than I do, 45 when I swim 40 in a 50 m pool. But it does not record kicking with a kick board and it does not record if you stand at the end of the pool for more than 2 minutes. So I guess that's why it is inaccurate.

I found a YouTube video that says to do a reset not a factory reset but put it in the charger then hold down the power button while it's in the charger till you see the :-). I did this and mine is working perfectly now

This looks like it's a very common problem. I'm having it myself Fitbit product support don't help at all (you have to call through the Fitbit app and that cuts out, live chat is a boy, and the actual people just give you the same list of things that don't apply). Steer well clear.
