Charge 3 Steps reminder not working if asleep

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi, a bit strange this one! If I'm asleep (napping) my hourly step reminder (10 mins before the hour) does not vibrate, and when I've completed them (after a nudge from my partner, who's awake and had her alert) I complete my steps and I don't get the completion vibrate either, I look and it just shows the 1 of 9 etc. It's got me puzzled as I'm unaware of any setting that controls this?

I feel a bit like 'Big Brother' is watching/monitoring me lol 😎

TIA for any replies 😊

Hello @Midnight-Blue Welcome to the community forums! Thank you for the information!

When you take your nap, do you set up the Sleep mode on your Charge 3? Take into consideration that when setting up this, your Charge 3 won't vibrate or receive any notification.

If not, I suggest you to perform a restart following the steps in this link and I also recommend adjusting your reminders to move. For more information, please check: What are the reminders I see on my Fitbit device?

I look forward to your response.

Hi, I don't set anything re sleeping etc. It just seems to know that I'm not awake. My first alert in the morning I'm usually fully awake and up, but if after late night working i stay asleep longer and awaken a few minutes before the first alert, i don't get the vibrate alert, and after getting up to do my steps i don't get my completion vibrate either, and when I look at the screen it doesn't it doesn't show 250 steps it just says 1 of 9. This also happens at say 12 midday I've had the 2 previous hourly reminder vibrations, but if I'm napping (only because I'm working late into the night) and catching up on lost sleep, it doesn't vibrate at all. It seems to know I'm not awake ?? Rgds. Midnight-Blue

@Midnight-Blue Thank you for the detailed information!

I really appreciate the time you've taken to report this matter! I'd like to suggest that you perform a long restart to your Charge 3 by doing the steps below:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

If the inconvenience persists, please note that my team is aware of the inconvenience and they are working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible. Your patience is also very appreciated.

See you around.

Hi Wilson

I've performed the reset as described above and will keep you informed of any changes or not. To be honest it's not a real problem, I was more interested in the reason for it? Is there a some sort of monitoring of heart rate? Which controls the vibrate alert? The fact that there is a difference between either the 250 of 250 steps and the 1 or 2 etc of 9 per hour upon completion means it 'knows' there's a difference between the two. ie. I haven't vibrated so I won't show the 250 of 250.  🤔

Best regards
