Charge 3 Update: battery drops fast, notifications STILL not working, unpairs constantly

I've had pretty serious issues with my Charge 3. My previous one died completely and was replaced. Neither one has ever consistently showed me my texts, as my Alta HR did. I checked the community, did the reset etc. steps, nothing.

Then there was a device update. I had hope that it would clear everything up. Nope. I got ONE text notification, then nothing. It dies way faster than it used to--I used to recharge it once a week, now it's several times a week and it's gone from low to dead really fast.

Also, the app seems to tell me it is no longer paired, like *all* the time. Even just after it synced. I'll sync it, get a message to tell my iPhone to "forget this device", then re-pair, sync... and get the same message.

I mean, is this entire product a lemon???

@jennievh It's nice to have you on board!

Sorry to hear that your Charge 3 not getting notifications or keeping paired and the battery draining quickly. For the first two issues I suggest you try clearing the link between your phone and your tracker by doing the following:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, on an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  5. You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Regarding the battery you can try cleaning the contacts using cotton swab with rubbing alcohol, then charge it by plugging it for a couple of hours directly to your computer's USB port (try different ports) or use an UL-certified USB adapter. You can follow these instructions to help improve the battery life.

Let me know how it goes.
