When I swipe over to Weather on my Charge 3, it never works and says to try syncing with my phone... That doesn't work either. Any insights?

I am having the same problem with my weather data. I have tried the steps you listed numerous times. All the settings seem to be correct. Still no info. So I am obviously, not doing something right! Thx for any help.

I went through all if the above issues and those problems are resolved however this morning my temp was reading 49 degrees and it was actually 59. The reading was recent (within 30 minutes). Why such a discrepancy?!

I just wanted to add that for this to work for me I had to change the location services to ALWAYS allow instead of the normal "while using" option for iPhone iOS12.1

Thank you for your reply but I had already done this and was still getting
erroneous readings.

Hi everyone! If you're still having difficulties getting your Weather App to work on your Charge 3, please launch the Weather app on the Fitbit device, then choose the location in the Fitbit App Gallery > Weather

When you change location and the weather hasn’t updated in the new location, remind that you must sync the Fitbit device with your phone for this update to occur.

Some apps, such as Weather, require All-Day Sync to be turned on for data to be sent from the Fitbit app to your watch:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon > your device image.
  2. Find the option to turn on All-Day Sync.

If the weather for your current location doesn’t appear, check that you turned on location services for the Fitbit app. For instructions, see How do I allow the Fitbit app to use my phone's GPS?

If you change locations, sync your watch to see your new location in the Weather app.

Make sure everything is as described above and let me know how everything goes!

I did all of this and it’s still not working. The device updated yesterday
and now I get nothing except the message to sync my device. At least with
the previous software version I couod sync and get something. Very
frustrating.

Again, this did not fix the problem on my C3. Its still showing an update from 3 hrs ago (i.e. the last time I manually synced).

I've basically given up on the weather app. I took this pic just now:

Update:

Also, why has this thread been listed as "SOLVED"? (see pic) My weather app has not worked since the day I got my C3, after trying to fix it multiple times based on the suggestions in this thread, and after doing all software updates. This issue is not solved.

I would agree - mine is still not working either.  The problem is not "solved."

First of all: I really like the Charge 3. The right design, the right functionality. It is a great product.

Several of the early irritations are also dealt with, at least at my Charge 3. The silent alarms are actually now working without time-shift. Hope this holds for everyone.

Also the weather info and stats are updated as long as "all day sync" is on and the app is active in the background of my iphone.

Just some last issues I want to mention:

1. Opening the stats or weather app at my Charge does not immediately show the data. It takes a few seconds to update after opening. With the current screen time-out this often means that the stats or weather app needs to be re-opened to see the updated data (the weather app will show "--" for the current temperature at first, followed by the current temperature when opening the app the second time; water intake will show an older status first and the current status the second time).

Opening a view twice to get the info is unwanted behavior, so I hope the fitbit SW team will find a solution for this.

2. When "all day sync" is not switched on and/or the app on the phone is not active, expected behavior is that all stats are updated when a sync is performed. This is not the case. Repeated manual syncs do not have as a result that the weather data or water intake stat is updated. This is also unwanted behavior or even not good enough. A manual sync should of course result in the latest data on all information that the Charge 3 can provide.

I am curious if other users have the same experience. For me a solution for these two items make the Charge 3 move from good to great.

Regards, Paul

After the recent update, I reset my charge 3, and reset my phone and went through all the recommended steps yet another time.  The weather worked for one day, and now it says to sync with my phone again.

So there are still some bugs in this new product.

Hi guys! Thanks for sharing your experience while trying to sync your Weather. Also, thanks for already troubleshooting this.

Please refer to my post above and try to follow the tips and recommendations. See How do I set up and troubleshoot apps on my Fitbit watch?, click Weather, and follow the steps.

Let me know how it goes!

Yeah I've tried that several times - still doesn't work.  I even did my Celsius/Fahrenheit trick and it didn't work.  All my Fitbit says under weather is please sync with your phone.

Hi MarreFitbit - I’ve followed those instructions several times. They don’t work.

I have a proposed fix. As a software test manager, perhaps the software
developers should be forced to do rigorous software testing (including
regression testing) BEFORE the software is allowed to be released.

This  did not work for me.  My fitbit ALWAYS displays the same information.  It's always St. Petersburg and it's always 26 degrees.  I live in FL and it is not 26 degrees.  The weather ap on my phone, laptop and ipad are all accurate.  Location services are enabled.  It's all set to farenheit and to the correct city, but my fitbit will not display current accurate info.

I tried everything you described multiple times and the weather app still doesn't work. Every time I open it it tells me no data available and to sync with my phone. Disappointing.

Thanks for getting back to me @JeanneMcF@BEC29@Edgarp70@hpeep54@Calehu, and @DamienLee! Let's test something my friends, if you open up the app to sync, and then go to the Weather tracking screen with the app open, it seems to send the data through at that point? (as if it needs to be pulled through).

Also, a new firmware update was released recently for Charge 3, this release includes bug fixes and improvements. If you haven't done so already, you can update your device following the steps here; then check if you continue to experience the same difficulties.

Keep me posted!
