When I swipe over to Weather on my Charge 3, it never works and says to try syncing with my phone... That doesn't work either. Any insights?

Hi Marre - Yes, the weather on my FitBit updates when I open the FitBit app on my iPhone. It syncs when I do this (however, the time stamp on my FitBit weather says “32 minutes ago”).

Note: The software on my FitBit is 28.20001.44.33.

If I have to do all of that, I’ll use my phone to check the weather. I downloaded the new update right after it came out and it didn’t fix this software issue. I did software test for years (as well as development). I’m retired now and don’t do it for free. Beef up your Configuration Management and Test processes and you’ll have happier customers. As for me, right now, my Fitbit just tracks my activity and displays time. I ignore the weather option. All that using it does is irritate me because I know it’s just sloppy development causing the problem and there’s no excuse for that.

Ok, so I tried out what you said (or at least what I thought you said).  I opened my Fitbit app and went to the weather thing on the actual Fitbit itself.  I synced my app and the weather came up (although it says the weather data it is showing me was from 38 minutes ago)!  Thanks for suggesting that - I'm interested to see how long my weather will stay up and if it will auto update.

I’m having the same problem. According to settings, I should get weather.

Currently mine will only show up if I go to the weather thing on my Fitbit (have it up and displaying) and then do a sync (or sometimes two) with the app on my phone.  And then it only will be there for a short time before I need to do that again.  I'm really surprised that this works so poorly - I haven't had much time to test out some of the other features as of yet...I wonder if they are similar?

After messing about a bit more, on my iPhone I changed (for Location Services) from 'Always' to 'While Using this App', rebooted the iPhone, resynced the Charge 3, and Voila! the Weather app started working again!

That’s great! I guess every phone is different. I have my weather on the Charge 3 now as well. Good news!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi all- I did something different this time. I went to phone stttings. Clicked Bluetooth “on”. That took me to “my devises.” Hit “Charge 3.”

weather came up on my Charge 3. I don’t think it’s 2* out, but it’s a start!!🤣

Try that. This seems to be happening to many of us- not having weather on our Fitbit.

@Edgarp70 Welcome to the Fitbit family! Thanks for taking the time to post the experience you have had with the Weather app on your Charge 3 so far. Thanks for syncing it in order to sort this out.

Make sure you have Location Services enabled on your phone. Once it is enabled, sync your tracker and check the Weather app. It should show your city as default.

You can also add 2 additional locations:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap the Account icon > Charge 3 tile.
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. Tap the gear icon next to Weather. You may need to scroll down to find the app.
  4. Tap Add City to add up to 2 additional locations or tap Edit > the X icon to delete a location. Note that you can't delete your current location.
  5. Sync your tracker with the Fitbit app to see the updated list of locations on your tracker

@Meshell08 Thank you very much for sharing your help and experience on this thread!

Hope this helps. Keep me posted! Smiley Happy

Hi AlejandraFitbit,

Yes, I have tried all the suggestions throughout this entire thread. The only way the weather updates on my C3 is if I manually sync through my iPhone FitBit app.

Best,
Damien

That is still my issue as well - it will update but only when I manually sync with my phone.  And then it only stays for a short amount of time.

Thanks. That’s what I have found.
