When I swipe over to Weather on my Charge 3, it never works and says to try syncing with my phone... That doesn't work either. Any insights?

I use a 6S and version 12.1
Charge 3 a month old and has latest available updates and running system.
No pick up of current location weather at all at any point.

It only seems to work when you sync up and have the weather app open on the fitbit. Kind of dumb

Exactly! It's pretty lame. I'm surprised that they included it as a
'feature'. I'd be embarrassed to offer such to the public as something
useful.

What is interesting is it will work for the rest of the day. Then requires
you to do the same thing the next day

They need better testers

I wish that we could delete the weather app, but no.

Great idea, I’d love it if it was reliable

I’ve done this, but still no weather. And I can’t add another city. I put the name in the search box, but no option comes up to add it.

I solved my problem by changing the settings in my Fitbit app.

Hey all, I hope you are doing fine.

I appreciate all the efforts in trying to fix the weather issue you all are experiencing. If the weather for your current location doesn’t appear, check that you turned on location services for the Fitbit app. For instructions, see How do I allow the Fitbit app to use my phone's GPS?. If you change locations, sync your device to see your new location in the Weather app.

I hope this helps, let me know the outcome. Smiley Happy

I am experiencing these issues with both location sharing always on and background app refresh enabled.  Perhaps a clue to why this is not working is in the Location Services menu where the indicator arrow is grey (not recently accesses) and not purple (recently accessed).

My Charge 3 and iPhone are cooperating well in terms of the weather but the weather doesn't always automatically update when I sync the Charge 3 with the iPhone. Most of the time, I have to do a 'hand sync' to get the weather which means while the FitBit app is open, navigating to the weather app on my Charge 3, tapping the weather icon and then, most of the time, seeing the sad sun icon telling me to sync — I then press the haptic button on the left side of the Charge 3 and, voila! the updated weather appears. A possible step forward from this would be to allow users to add an additional square to their dashboard — a local weather square that would update with a sync along with the other squares on the dashboard. That would allow users to see if the weather is synced.

Hi! Base Runner had a great idea! Have a square on the dashboard for weather. That would solve everyone’s difficulties getting weather on their Fitbit!☺️👍

I recently purchased a charge 3 and am experiencing the same issue. The only time I can get the weather to update, even after syncing, is to reboot the device.

Azapia83- that seems to be the universal solution . I re-synch in order to get the weather. There’s been such a response about this! Just re-synch, which you would probably do anyway...☺️ Have a good week!

I’m sorry but I think you may have misunderstood. I can synch my Fitbit to my phone until I’m blue in the face but the weather itself won’t update until I powercycle my Fitbit.

My mistake. I apologize. I synced my phone / the app this morning and did NOT get the weather!😳 So this problem seems to be capricious as well. I just go to the Weather Channel app now. At least if I get caught in a rainstorm my Charge 3 will be ok if it gets wet!!🤣 I hope you have a good week...

Try hand syncing the weather while the FitBit app is open after a normal sync by going to the weather app screen on your Charge 3 (and usually seeing the sad sun icon) and then pressing the haptic button on the left side of the Charge 3. More often than not refreshed weather data will take the place of the sad sun.
