Anyone else having this issue? After a 3 mile hike up a mountain, I look down and see I have 7500 steps, 24 floors, and zero active minutes.

I am so disappointed to see this problem doesn’t appear to have a solution. I just bought mine 2 days ago and did a 50 minute intense routine and have nothing to show for it.

I have a suggestion. Don’t put it in exercise mode. I get a heart rate while in the water swimming without turning on the swim feature, however, then it doesn’t count the laps. If I put it in swim mode, I get my laps but no heart rate.
Today I did water walking and I put it on walk exercise mode. I got a heart rate for the entire hour even though my fit bit was under water most of the time.
I have a hunch that Fit Bit is on shaky ground. I expect poor earnings reports soon.

Thanks, Shanna, I’ll give it a try.

Yesterday I worked for a couple of hours (active job), then went to the gym for a strength workout. My Fitbit recorded 75 active minutes which seemed about right. Time will tell if this is a one-off or if my device has sorted itself out. The polar vortex has scuttled work/gym plans for the next couple of days.

Thanks ShannaS it is a good tip.
I put my Fitbit on "Workout" instead of "swimming" and I had my heart rate during the whole time, then it considered it was active minutes! Youhou!
Well Fitbit should still fix the issue with the swimming mode in order we have both active minutes and lapses. However in the meantime, I prefer to have active minutes than my number of lapses.

Just stay safe from the polar vortex AN1412! Going to have rain here for a week. Last time I was swimming for 1 hour and my active minutes showed as 40 minutes.

I have the Charge 3 and it works GREAT! The active minutes record as advertised. Loved it so much, I bought one for my wife. Her device NEVER recorded any active minutes so I returned it to the store and got a replacement. Her replacement still DOES NOT record active minutes. We can be walking side by side for an hour and mine works fine, hers does not work at all. Also, when I ride a stationary bike at the gym, I put the Charge 3 in my pocket and it still works great...obviously it is not tracking my heart rate in my pocket so I don't think that active minutes are tied to the heart rate monitor. Wife is very disappointed that her active minutes do not work at all.

I’m feeling very “had.” I’ve had several Fitbit’s and continue to update because I’ve been so pleased with the product and service. This is no longer true. I am now wearing my SECOND Charge 3, having returned the first. I have the same frustrating issues. I am reading MONTHS of the same problems, STILL UNRESOLVED. It does not appear Fitbit intends to resolve this problem. A tracker that does not record statistics is useless. Very disappointing.

“Scripted answers “ is the PERFECT description, making the situation all the more maddening. All talk, absolutely NO ACTION. I actually like FITBIT enough that I’ve given them ample time to resolve glitches. MONTHS of all talk without resolution is too much. Ironically, Fitbit continues to market and selling this product knowing full well IT DOESNT WORK as evidenced by the wide range of long term complaints, Loss of their reputation appears to mean nothing to them.

We as customers should not have trick our Fitbit to do what this company advertises it suppose to do. Go to social media post your comments for the masses to see. Fitbit is working on fixing the issues of the other devices that came after the 3. I don’t think they care about the active minutes the 3 is having. I say stop selling the device, or issue a disclaimer that says some of the devices will not work as advertised. Lol who am I kidding.....

I had the same issue, two intense gym sessions and no active mins when previously it had picked up. I contacted fitbit and once I put my weight back on the app my active minutes have come back! Hope this may help others

s!me boat. this charge 3 is a replacement to my first one that I bought in November. was fine for a couple.of weeks, then wouldnt sync and keep history in my app. now, the fitbit will have active minutes that disappear. it will sync steps and floors, but minutes , exercise, sleep and heart rate are gone. this is.the most I've paid for a fitbit (and I've had fitbits for years!) and I'm not happy to spend so much time.jacking with this. Thinking samsung watch is in my future. argh!!!!
