Just wanted to see if anybody else out there has successful swam or gotten their charge 3 wet without any issues? I’m a little wary on it actually being waterproof.
Success stories, or fail stories, I want to hear them!

Mine had lines across after a few swims and today it completely died in the pool. Looks like water inside. I would think that Fitbit is going to be replacing a ton of these things as they are not built to good. Battery loses over 60% capacity in 11 months. If it's still got warranty for sure swim. If it's passes warranty keep it dry.

FitBit Charge 3- Actually Waterproof?
I got my Charge3 for Christmas this year, and so far there has been no problems. I have worn it swimming lots of times, and all I have to do afterward it to detach the FirBit from the straps and dry it thoroughly. However, maybe the older ones close problems, I have no idea. All I know is that mine is, and it’s pretty new. I hope hope this article helped you, because something like this helped me a few months ago.

I wore my charge 3 swimming and it totally quit. Black screen. That was a week ago and recharging it hasn't helped. Any suggestions?

Contact fitbit for a replacement, they should post you one.

Io lo uso da mesi in piscina e nessun problema. E poi quando ho finito mi piace vedere le lunghezze e il tempo. Molto utile. Usato anche in sauna e bagno turco no problem

I am very unhappy with the 3. Should have stuck with 2 or look for other options. The sync is painfully slow. Not an up grade on only level. Complete waste of money!

I just tried using my charge 3 in a swimming pool and it stopped functioning after 15 minutes. I can visually see condensation in the sensors. Be careful if you use your charge 3 in water. I was only using it at the surface of the pool....i.e. not diving, etc.

My husband and I just spent a month in Costa Rica working out in a pool daily wearing our fitbit's. Neither kept track of our swimming and both watches died permanently. I keep working with Fitbit to try to get them to reset and restart but to no avail. I would not recommend this watch

It is not waterproof but it is water resistant up to 50 meters so you can swim or take showers without damaging it.

Fail story with a happy ending: I've had my Charge 3 for about 8 months. I shower with it and have swum in a lake once (I don't go under the water in the lake, so it's been maybe a foot under water). The screen started doing wonky things about a month ago and then the screen went completely black about two weeks ago. I finally got around to seeing about a warranty replacement today and it was surprisingly easy, though I intend to waterproof my replacement myself to prevent this from happening again.
The only reason I think it's water that caused this is that in one of the forum, an electrical engineer took his apart after getting his replacement and found the water proofing materials to be extremely weak and prone to failure if exposed to heat (I ride bikes in the summer time, so that's the most heat it's seen), causing water to be able to get into the device and corrode some sort of strip (I don't know what's inside, so I dunno what the thing was).
All in all, I'm happy I'll be getting a replacement, but I'll definitely be doing to McGuyver waterproofing to beef up making sure it's actually water resistant.

My friend accidentally put hers on a 50 degree heat washing machine cycle and it’s fine . It even synced while it was in there.

There are some example of people being able to get their fitbits wet without problems. But if you read all the posts here there are significantly more water failures than success stories. Mine got damaged the very first time I jumped into a pool with it. They sent me a replacement and have been keeping it dry and have not had any problems.
You cant really check your fitbit while swimming anyway so given all the problems reported here why would you need to wear your fitbit in the shower, pool, lake or washing machine?

So the Fitbit Charge 3 is waterproof, you can go swimming with it meaning you can have it underwater? How does the charge lights thiny on the back not get ruined from getting wet?
Thanks
