Charge 3 band not latching

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Ok, as you can tell, my BRAND NEW charge 3 that I got hours ago’s band isn’t latching! The little piece that is supposed to go into the band and make it latch isn’t fully connecting to the band, even though the piece works fine without the band present. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @SnowTire. I'll be glad to assist you with your Charge 3 band inquiry.

Fitbit Charge 3 have 2 detachable wristbands (top and bottom) that you can replace with accessory bands sold separately. To remove and replace the bands on both sides:

  1. Turn over your tracker and locate the two wristband latches—there’s one on each end where the wristband meets the frame.
  2. To release a latch, press down on the flat button on the strap.

  3. Gently pull the wristband away from the tracker to release it.

  4. Remove the wristband on the other side. If you’re having trouble or if it feels stuck, gently move the wristband back and forth to release it.
  5. To attach a wristband, slide it on the end of the tracker until you feel it snap into place, then repeat on the other side. If you have trouble attaching the wristband or if it feels loose, gently move the wristband back and forth to make sure it is attached to the tracker.

I just bought my wife a new Fitbit charge 3, and a pack of various color replacement bands for it.

I decided to change the black band on my Fitbit charge 3 to another color. I found out the button on the buckle side will not push in to release the band. The other side released easily, and I replaced that side.

I have tried repeatedly, and cannot get the button on the side with the buckle to move at all, and cannot get the old band off. Do you have any suggestions?

Hello I am having a problem with latching a new band to my fitbit and the old one will not latch back anymore. It is the side of the buckle.

Best Answer

The plastic piece on one side does not move down so the new band that I purchased won’t latch.

I have the same problem, original band won't release on the buckle side... anyone found a solution?

Well, it turns out that there was some sand/dirt in there.. i pried it off (the band was broken anyway) and then used baby oil to lube it.

Me Too! I got mine July 7, and it came with 2 bands (and the small options, which connect great, but are useless for me), but the ‘special’ white band I paid extra for will not attach. It looks like it is ‘attached’, but won’t latch / pop the connector up on the device. Another issue Is trying to connect a band, the face is so sensitive it starts turning options on / off, switching displays, etc. but that’s a topic for another day. I’m hoping I can get a replacement band piece (the large side white band) 😕

I have exactly the same. The new buckle won’t click and stay on and even the one I took off will not re-click and stay on so I am now unable to wear it - very frustrating!

Contact the company. As a follow-up to my post, they just had me text pictures of the clasps then sent me a new one. Good luck!
