Charge 3 band will not release

The band will not release!

"Press down on the flat button on the strap. Gently pull the band away from the watch to release it."

Pressed down and gently pull it away from the watch, gently moved it back an forth! The bands will not release!

Pressed down with a small flat metal tab on the button and gently moved it back and forth while pulling it away from the watch. Will not release! Tried both sides.

Pressed as hard as I could and pulled not so gently away from the watch. will not release!

Gave up.

Got a new Charge 3 and checked the band release - works just like the instructions.

LOOKS LIKE SALT MUST HAVE FILLED IN THE VOIDS. I WILL CLEAN THEM ONCE A QUARTER FROM NOW ON.

@AlvaroFitbit I have the same problem, I don't want to get a new one. Any suggestions? My band is broken (original band), one side ripped in half the other side almost torn. I really need to replace it. Is there a trick to getting it off? The buttons wont push down. I have tried using a screw driver to push it it wont go and it wont release. Please help.
