I charged my Fitbit before bed and it was 100% charged before I went to work but by lunchtime it was completely dead. I came home, charged it to full again and within 2 minutes it was Down to 66% battery. It also went from 100% to 2% earlier then when putting on charge back up to 100% all in the space of 5 minutes. Also horizontal lines have appeared on the screen. I think my Fitbit is Around 17 months old. I don’t really want to be buying a new Fitbit every year and a half. Please help. I’ve cleaned the charger, changed the plug, reset etc. What can I try next?

With so many recent concerns/issues with batteries rapidly discharging, I'm wondering whether anyone at Fitbit has considered the possibility that the most recent firmware update is at least part of the problem. I have no way of knowing whether there is a cause and effect relationship, but my personal experience leads me to conclude the two things may be related. Just wondering.
