Charge 3 battery draining quickly

Has anyone had any issues with the charge 3 battery. My charge 3 is a week old and needed a charge Sunday night. I charged it over night and in the morning it was showing 100%, I wore it all day Monday however early hours of this morning (Tuesday) by watch was dead. I’ve had to hold the buttons for 8 seconds for it to come on however it ran out of battery? I synced my watch and phone before bed and there was over 80% battery. Has anyone’s else done this?

Mine was doing the exact same thing. I waisted much too much time trying to get it going while on a vacation I REALLY wanted to track.

VERY disappointed!

I actually gave up dealing with it and went back to my Apple Watch. I miss the Fitbit challenges and the rankings with my friends. But it was so annoying how quickly it died. I needed a watch with a step/activity tracker that would last all day.

Good of luck everyone! I really hope they get it fixed!

I have received notices from a number of people in the last few days and it makes me really glad I am not dealing with the issues the Charge 3 has had. I have gone back to my Charge 2 and am extremely happy with it and my battery lasts 5-7 days. It is too bad the 3 has had so many issues. I will be optimistic that when my 2 no longer works there will be a Fitbit product I will be happy with or I too will go to an Apple Watch- the family members who have them have been extremely happy with them and have not had the issues that the 3 seems to have. I have been a Fitbit user for years.

My charge 3 just start doing the same thing. Did you find out why?

I tried 2 Fitbit Charge 3’s-the first one right from the start the battery didn’t keep the charge for longer than 2 days as the week went on the charge lasted shorter and shorter. So I was still able to exchange for another one -that one was even worse- I got both when the new ones first were released and from the Fitbit Community it sounds like they still have issues. A few years ago my Alta quit before the warranty and the support group was great and replaced it. I have had a Charge 2 for 4 years and it’s been great none of the battery or other issues like the 3 has had.

I reached out to the support group twice but never received a response.

Good Luck!

Hi,

I have been using a brand new Charge3 for about 18 days. It has been working well and I was impressed with its functions. However, after charging it to full (100%) yesterday and within one hour, the battery drained to 0%. I was surprised and really disappointed with this tracker.

There is no Service Centre in Singapore and I am wondering how I could get a replacement. I have just written to Fitbit.

You have been warned about the Charge3 - good tracker but very poor battery quality !

I called the phone # and they are sending me a replacement Fitbit. It took 5 minutes. I recommend doing the same.

Lots of luck!

Thanks @Peggy_ , I have sent an email because I do not live in the US. So don’t know if the procedure will be as easy as yours.

I called Fitbit support and they confirmed an issue with my Fitbit charge 3 and are replacing it. (I have to wait a week for it to be shipped via fed ex.)

Needless to say, being a new Fitbit customer- 4 weeks in- I’m very disappointed by my entire experience.

The new tracker is still not here. Replacement time is slow. Another disappointment with the product for me.

Hi,

I went back to the vendor and told him of the Charge3 battery problem last week. He said that there is a redemption centre in the City (Singapore). As my Charge3 is still under warranty, the receptionist at the Centre was kind enough to give me a one-to-one replacement. I am glad that I got a new tracker within a few days. Hope you get your replacement tracker soon. tw

I bought my Charge 3 and it is not a month old.

Having the same problem battery says 100% charged but I when i wear it the charge of the watches lasts about midday then the watch is battery is flat.

The 1st week the battery lasted for 4days now only a couple of hours.

Does battery need replacing is it under  guarantee.

You help is appreciated.

I would return it and get a new Fitbit - I have had many Fitbit products over the years and have never had to replace a battery. Mine did good the first couple days then I had the battery issues-sometimes the battery would only last 4 hours. I exchanged it for a new one and had the same issues. Another thing you could do is contact Fitbit customer service- I have had good results with my Alta when it quite working after 10 months they sent me a new one right away. I have emails where people said they contacted them and got good results so that would be a place to start. Maybe if more people contact them direct with these battery issues they will fix the problem. I have had a Charge 2 for 4 years and never had this issue- I charged it up when I returned my 3 and it still working great. So I think there is a issue with the 3. Hope this helps- Good Luck!

I called Fitbit support and they were able to see my Fitbit activity electronically and replaced it. It was inconvenient and took about 7 days to receive in the mail via Fedex.

Here I am 24 hours into my second charge 3- hopefully I never have this problem again! (You too)

I recommend you call.

My Fitbit charge 3 isn’t holding the charge, charged it yesterday and after updating calories and water only have 50% charge left. It used to last for a week

Call the service line and have them look at it electronically. Mine was replaced.

I experienced the same problem with battery draining on my Fitbit Charge 3 app. half year ago, after a very short time from its purchase. It was really frustrating and I posted my disappointment with the tracker here as well. However, just to give to some of you a little bit of hope - mine Fitbit got "cured" by a software update released approximately within a week after I posted my comments into this discussion. Since then I did not experience any quick battery draining. To illustrate it, we went skiing a week ago and I forgot the charging cable for my Fitbit at home. When I realised it after two days, I switched off the screen waking, all-day-sync and synchronised my Fitbit only twice a day with my iPhone. Under these settings my Fitbit kept tracking my activities for another whole four days (i.e. in total for 6 days). Therefore, try to update your tracker (if you did not do it yet), hopefully it´ll help. If it will not, seek the replacement.
