Charge 3 battery drains within hour and doesn't count steps

Yesterday the battery of my Charge 3 started draining really quickly. Like, 100% at 9:02 and 89% at 9:10 (and I didn't even move). It has also stopped counting steps. So now it's  useless :-(.

I got it in September as a warranty replacement  because  my previous Charge 3 had a problem.

Things I've tried so far:

- hooking it to the charger and holding the button until I saw the smiley face (4-5 times)

- restarting Charge 3 via settings on the device

- hard factory reset

I use a Samsung galaxy A51.

Also, since about 2 weeks ago my registered walks don't show me maps anymore even though GPS was connected. Before that they did. But according  to customer service that has something to do with compatibility issues??? I think that's strange because before it worked fine.

Is my Charge 3 faulty or does anyone have the golden tip?

@IJsselmeisje Thanks for being part of our Community!

Sorry to hear that your Charge 3 isn't holding a charge nor getting GPS data and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. Regarding the battery I suggest you try cleaning the contacts using cotton swab with rubbing alcohol, then charge it by plugging it for a couple of hours directly to your computer's USB port (try different ports) or use an UL-certified USB adapter. You can follow these instructions to help improve the battery life.

Regarding the missing GPS data you can try the following:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, on an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  5. You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Let me know how it goes.
