It's nice to see you around @SunsetRunner. I'll be glad to assist you with your Charge 3 short battery life issue.

Thank you for letting us know that you reset and fully charged your device again, have everything switched off, all day sync screen wake, and you keep your Bluetooth off.

First time you charge your tracker it will probably last less than the estimated time since you need to set it up and you're getting to know it, you could try some features and explore how it works.

I would recommend following the instructions from Can I improve my Fitbit device's battery life? help article. And avoid charging it every time you see it's discharging. Charge it again when it shows the battery charge sign and let me know if it's still lasting little.

Thank you for visiting the forums and please let me know if you have more questions.

The Charge 3 has a Lithium-Ion Battery, there are a number of things that can be done to maximize Lithium-Ion battery life. Here are a few:

  • Never charge overnight. Too much heat is the enemy of long-term battery performance
  • Never let your battery get below 25%
  • Never charge your battery beyond 85%
  • Don’t use third party charging cords. They may be cheaper, but their charging parameters may not be right for the device. OEM cords perform optimally for the device

I've tried all the fixes I've read here - battery life is still less than 48 hours.

So i have a $200+ watch that dies and I basically have to charge all the time and that is going in the garbage! How can you make a $200+ watch (Blaze) that dies in 3 years? Ridiculous!  Your production cost is so low, maybe up it by $5 and make the battery replaceable like every other watch in the world!  Never buying another Fitbit.  Just got on your chat help site and the person says there is nothing i can do except buy another watch.  What?  Buy another $200 watch that dies in 3 years? No way.

My family has spent over $1000 on Fitbit watches and you just lost all our future business over a battery or watch replacement.

My $150+  charge 3 dies in 4 days and i got it less than a month ago. Im pretty pissed too

@906JKal I am interested to know from where you got $5 cost associated for each watch. I believe you are speaking of R&D + engineering + eBOM + mBOM + manufacturing + logistics + partner commission + marketing/advertising costs together right? I would love to start a company tomorrow if I can get all of these done at $5 🙂

I have a battery issue with my ionic.  I was getting 4 to 5 days of battery life and then overnight it changed to 6 hours of battery life.  I called fitbit to get support and since my ionic is 18 months old, they told me that it was out of warranty and that I had to buy a new one.  Nice customer service from fitbit!  Customer service was not at all helpful, they just wanted to sell me another device.  Pathetic and convenient that their equipment lasts just longer than their warranty.  They just lost a customer!

I am also having issues. The battery is draining within hours!!! It died last night at 8pm, so I charged it overnight to 100% and 1.5 hours later it's on 57%! What can I do??

Hi Andrea

I’m still get trouble with Fitbit charge 3 short battery life, it just lasts for about 3 day. I turn off notifications and screen wake at night. Besides, my Fitbit charge 3 also counts totally wrong about my floor climbing, for example, I climbed no floor for yesterday, just ride my bikes around and it counted 9 floors climbing, that’s crazy.

I tried all the tips for battery life and it’s still draining way too quickly. I emailed support. What else do you suggest myself or others do?

It is a piece of garbage. I have the exact same problem and the customer service told me to get a new one and send me a list of retailers shamelessly.

I will make it known to everyone that Fitbit product is junk status. Don't ever spend money on this product.

I learned from a friend that they had taken theirs to the seller and it was replaced. I did the same and was handed a new one which is still going a few months later.

God! After last firmware update battery has gotten worse. Below is todays experiment to test excessive battery drain when the watch is turned off.

Turn off time: 7:30am

Turn off battery level: 93%

Turn on time: 5:30 pm

Turn on battery level: 51%

Really Fitbit?
