Charge 3 black screen and gets hot when charging it

My Charge 3 was working perfectly one minute then I look down and it was a blank screen. It was at 75% charge last time I checked on it which was half an hour before it turned off. I went to plug it in and nothing happened, it didn't vibrate, the screen just stayed black. I thought maybe the battery died so I kept it plugged in for 2 hours, nothing happened, it just got really warm. I tried to press the button on the side in hopes to restart it, but again nothing happens, just a black screen. I don't know what to do. Should I keep it on the charger and wait to see if It'll turn on? Should I just send it back for a new one? Am I just wasting my time on this product?

Jogger,

My honest view is there should be a recall!

Any how'se recommend you contact Fitbit Support (on email) with your case - they have been of good assistance and respond timely.

Unfortunately, I am now wearing an Apple Watch. Because it was still
under warranty, they agreed to fix it or replace it. After two months, I
finally got my repaired or new FitBit. It didn't even last a full two
months before the screen displays began to rapidly flash from one to
another. Then it went black. After re-charging & trying to re-set it, the
problem persisted. Since it was no longer under warranty, I tossed it,
vowing not to buy another FitBit. Such a shame, because I actually liked
it better than the more expensive Apple watch. Oh well.

Your fitbit is probably not fixable, but they will replace it if it's still
under warranty. It was very easy for me to get through to customer service,
(first thing in morning), and the process was very easy. It does take a
while to get the replacement. I haven't gotten mine yet after three weeks.
Good luck!

There should be a recall. There are many complaints and the overheating
could be a safety issue.

They will replace it but it just might take longer than usual because of

I'm so disappointed to read all these. My fitbit is only about 14 months old and based on what I'm reading it's now garbage. Same exact problem. The band broke so I waited for new ones. I got them, replaced the band, charged it. It went dead last night though it was at 76% charged. When I put it on the charger, after just a few minutes, it was super hot. That made me nervous so I took it off and came here. I'll look for a different product I guess because I don't have $150 to keep replacing it. Too bad because I LOVED it.

If you get in touch with them they will replace it. Mine was and it has
been fine since and I wear it pretty much 24/7.

As many have expressed, I also love my fitbit (the slenderness, the ability to wear other jewelry along with it) and have been putting off purchasing another brand, but I am growing tired of the repeated and continued malfunctioning of the device.  I'm on my second Fitbit 3 (my current one is a replacement due to a blank screen and overheating).  The past couple of weeks the band has become loose again (I have a fitbit 2 that I cannot wear because of a broken band) and it keeps falling off my wrist.  While riding today, I  almost lost it but found it all scratched after searching for 15 minutes.  It has fallen off my wrist about 15 times since, so out of frustration, I just purchased the fitbit 4 (perhaps foolishly), but I don't want to be without an exercise tracker for too much longer (the good news is that the new purchase will arrive much faster than the fitbit replacements).  This is the last straw as I can't continue wasting time and money of fitbit products. Frustrated!

Sadly, it has gotten worse.  My screen is now totally blank.  It appears to be working because I noticed an increase in steps on my iphone.  I'm totally frustrated and tired of this ongoing issue!

My Charge 3 just died today and got hot on the charger. Will not buy any product from Fitbit again.

Fitbit would not fix mine. I ended up with a series 5 Apple Watch. I will
not buy a Fitbit again.

My Charge 3 does the exact same thing. Customer service basically offered my 25% discount and told me that was it. This was my 3rd and last Fitbit device. Nothing has made it more than 18 months. Terrible products and even worse customer services

I ended up buying a Garmin.

I hear you all and the way it has been going (or not) I will be joining you all and seeking out the Apple watch or the garmin (how do you like the latter?).  The prices I've paid thus far for three fitbits and counting exceed the price of the Apple watch.  I'm so pissed right now because I was promised a replacement and was told that once I send a picture and the product # I'll receive it within 3-5 days.  Lo and behold, four days have elapsed and the reps continue to email with some questionable asinine requests: because I didn't write the product number on the actual photo taken of the product it was rendered invalid (I posted the request below).  They're still "one step closer" several steps ago!

We're one step closer to complete this process. To do so, we'll need a picture including the case number on it. Please take piece of paper, a pen or pencil and hand-write the case number on it. Once done, place the piece of paper next to the damaged band (showing the damaged area) and take a picture of it.
