Charge 3 black screen, can't be replaced since it is out of warranty

Ive had the black screen issue with my Fitbit Charge 3, just like so many others. and the solution to the problem? Buy another.

if you are past the one year warranty, then tough luck, go buy another. i have taken excellent care of all my fitbit products, and i have had many, but this sudden black screen issue? They cannot, or will not, fix it and they only suggest you buy another.

@NJCATBLUE It's nice to have you on board.

Sorry to hear about this. Support does follow the guidelines described in the warranty so if your device is outside the warranty period they won't be able to replace it. Still thank you for sharing your feedback.

I'll be around.

I have the same issue with charge 3. I have misplaced my Fitbit, and when I found it, the battery got discharged. So I have put it in charge, and it's just a blank screen. I bought it last August, previously I had Versa, and it also has the same issue, but it was out of warranty, so they gave me 15% off for the next purchase. This time I decided to try another product. But this one is also gone blank.

This is very disheartening. I am having the same issue. This was a Christmas gift for me in 2019, so I am sure that they will not fix or replace. I noticed that most of the postings here are regarding the Charge 3, something just doesn’t seem right. Anyhow, I already contacted support and waiting for someone else from warranty to contact me.

Do you think they are discontinuing the Charge 3 as everything I see advertises charge. 2 & 4. I am trying to get a charger for the 3 as I have misplaced mine and I am struggling.

This has been happening since Charge 3 has been released.

My 2nd Fitbit now has had this issue and both got bricked like this within a year and yes their advice is to go buy another one unless you fall under warranty. It was working just fine before I charged it up.
Is this an intentional brick to push all of us to buy more of fitbit products?

Barely lasted a year 2 times in a row.

Wow! Of course the response was “warranty expired”, here’s a coupon to purchase another device. Why would I want to purchase another device when the product barely lasts a year? I will be researching other products.

It seems to me that this is not a Warranty but a product defect.  There should be a recall.  It is a well known and obviously documented issue with Fitbit.  For the price of the product the resolution should be better.
