Charge 3 black screen, won't charge, only vibrates

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

This morning when I attached charging cable (wall plug), it did not vibrate, did not light up the battery showing charging. I removed it from charging cable and it won't respond to button with anything other than vibrating. It vibrates as long as I hold the button down. I brought charging cable to my computer and plugged it in there. Same thing. I can't restart, if I can't view a screen. I can't restart while attached to computer via cable, because I can't get anything to come up on the screen. I've held the button down for 10-12 seconds three times now. I think I'm just using up the battery charge.

It worked fine before I plugged it in to charge. Although, I've noticed lately it has been slow to attach to charging cable, some days I'd have to try 2-3 times to get it to start charging.

Is there anything else to try, or is it just dead?

@Mwisemiu It's great to see you in the Community!

Let me help you with this and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. It could be that the tracker is having difficulties charging so you can follow these instructions to help your device charge. After this retry the restart as you previously did.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for your suggestions. All of the things on that list don't apply.
It's not dirty, or wet, or down to 0%. I charge it nearly every day so it
was likely 85% full when I plugged it in this morning. And I did try two
power sources, the wall and my computer USB.

Meanwhile, I have my old Fitbit on the charger now. That IS at 0%. I
haven't worn it in 2 years. LOL!

Can you still pair it with your phone?   What does the level of charge show when you connect your fitbit to a phone, and can you see it go up?

I'd check the charge level of your fitbit on your phone, as sadly, your screen might have died.

No, it doesn't sync anymore. Fitbit keeps looking for it, it's just not
there.

The really sad thing is that it's just now only 2 years old. I guess I buy
a new one every couple years? It seems like a lot of investment to have it
last for such a short time. Very sad.

I picked up my Fitbit this morning. It had a heartbeat, literally. LOL. Kind of like it was trying to vibrate but the best it could get out was a weak blip about one per second. I couldn't get it to light up. But I thought I'd try to charge it. See what happens. So I've plugged it in and it gave me a smiley face. After a minute, it has 1% charge. So I guess the screen isn't toast. But I don't think I can trust it. Maybe it will limp along a while longer though. I'll keep my old one charged. Just in case.

Thanks for all of your help. I will let you know how it behaves after charging, and if I have any more problems with it.
