Charge 3 black screen

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Sometime between 6am-10am my Fitbit Charge 3 just stopped working. The screen is black and the button is unresponsive. I have had issue in the past few weeks where it would randomly do this but only for a few minutes at a time. It has now been hours and my Fitbit never turned back on. I followed the steps in the troubleshooting and plugged my Charge 3 into my PC but it still never turned back on.

Please help!

This is a VERY common issue with the Charge 3 and for those of us who have had ours for any time over a year, Fitbit doesn't care. They got their money out of us. The solution from them is to give a lousy discount on another product...but only certain products...I have lost my taste for Fitbit products. Will be looking elsewhere. A company this well known and trusted should recognize they've sold a defective product and do something to make their customers happy.

My Fitbit Charge 3 screen is still black after following Alejandra’s suggestions.  The Fitbit did vibrate but the screen is still black.  Suggestions?

Hi Alejandra,

I have a similar issue - my Charge 3 has stopped displaying anything on it's screen - when I log into the app I can see that steps are still being tracked though. I have tried the 8 second and 15 second restart but neither seems to have any affect I'm afraid - do you have any other suggestions?

Many thanks,

Chris

After contacting customer service, they sent some other things to try but in the end they replaced my fitbit. Excellent service! Good luck

I have the same problem recently. Did all the resets recommended, even the Long reset. Have the smiley sometimes and the screen comes on and then goes off again. Now the screen is still blank.

Kitty55, was your Fitbit still under warranty?

SteveKHY, I hope yours is still under warranty. If not, you won't find much help from Fitbit.

I got a Charge 3 SE from Amazon at Christmas, and about a week ago the screen went black.

I read the instructions on here about plugging it into the charger, and holding the button for 15 seconds to force a reboot, but nothing worked.

I think I need to send it back (to Amazon or fitbit?). It should be in warranty as its not even 6 months old.

I'm sorry to hear that. You're in the same boat as most of us. It's a real shame they won't admit they sold a defective product and fix this issue. Hope you see this before they delete it as they have some of my other posts.

Thank you. I might now switch over to Apple Watch. I have used 3 Fitbit’s already and am tired of this poor reliability. Cheers

I have tried all of that and it’s still not working

I called FitBit customer service.  The representative asked if I cleaned it with water or had it in water.  Of course not.

She then walked me through the same steps that you and I unsuccessfully tried.  She offered me a discount on my next FitBit watch.

I didn’t purchase another one.  Instead, I bought a cheap fitness tracker on Amazon.
