Charge 3 blank screen and it won't turn on

I have a Charge 3 less than 1 year with a blank screen, when connected to the charging wire, there was a vibration . i have seek help from fitbit, the suggested method to reset does not help. I have a charge 2 which is more than 3 years still working fine. Suspect the charge 3 manufacturing defect.

Hi @Agustin1, welcome to our Fitbit Community. I'm sorry to hear that the screen of your Charge 3 won't turn on. I totally understand how you feel about this and I appreciate the time spent trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.

 

I'd like you to try a long restart. To do so on your device, follow the steps below:

 

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable. 
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds. 
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration. 
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur. 
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.
  8. Try changing the clock face to one developed by Fitbit, not a third party clock face and see if the issue gets fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

Hello,

My Charge 3 did the same thing. I tried the long restart and now its dead. Won't turn on, won't even vibrate when I take it off and put back on the charger. When I tried to change the clock face, it couldn't connect. Please help!

Hi, tried this restart and also didn't work.  tried to find new clock face as recommended and it doesn't even show faces for the charge 3.  used my fitbit app on my phone to try to do this.  it seems to be the tap to my screen that isn't working. still recording steps, etc. but no screen. have had this one for less that 5 months.  Will be returning this one to the store

tried this and no success. tried changing the clock face and couldn't find any fitbit clocks for the charge 3 at all. tried changing the brightness on the watch face and the duration to keep on which will use more battery and drain faster.  cannot access the screen through tap.  i have had this watch less than 5 months.  i will be returning to the store

Agree with the defect thought. Exact same thing happened to mine. Via Fitbit on-line help chat, am receiving replacement. The on-line chat was VERY efficient. Thumbs up to Fitbit for that.

Same thing happening to mine and I haven't had it a year yet. The screen looks terrible and reset definitely doesn't help. Glad I'm not the only one.

I got my charge 3 on Mother's Day so not that old. None of the fixes work. I tried the clock face chsnge and the long reboot and the display is still black. So disappointed. I turned on and off bluetooth even.
