Charge 3 broken band

I used my first Charge 3 original band (the smaller size) for nearly 11 months, wearing daily and only removing once each day to shower. I then discovered a large crack on one side that completely broke the strap in half after only 3 additional days.

 

I was not pleased, but figured it was wear and tear and switched over to the larger band provided in the original box. Today, about 6wks past my 1yr warranty and only 2 months into the new strap, I discovered multiple fissures and deep cracks in one half of the band.

 

I cannot believe that I am now expected to buy another strap, a single strap at $30, with no hope of it lasting. What is happening with this product? Trying the link for warranty claim on the strap does not work, I presume because my product is no longer within warranty.
