I have always used watches with plastic or polymer watchbands... for decades. None have broken like the Charge 3 watch bands. None. After only a year, my Charge 3 watchband disintegrated in several spots all within a week, breaking apart in pieces.
As a result the watchband literally fell off my wrist as I was running and then tumbled off a cliff. Some bits of the watchband I collected from the trail but the Charge 3 itself was lost. (There were minor cracks forming prior to the catastrophic break up).
Since I have read other users have had this problem also, I am never buying a Fitbit again as there was no warning, the watchband simply disintegrated, cracking open at several spots simultaneously. I have had other watchbands, like for a Casio, and often you could wear a slightly damaged band for ages. Not so with the Charge 3 watchband.
It literally broke up completely within a week of the first crack forming. I took my Charge 2 out of mothballs and am using it now, but have no intention of buying another Fitbit once its band breaks, although frankly, the Charge 2 watchband has so far lasted longer than what other users are reporting for their Charge 3 bands, so maybe Charge 3 bands are just lemons.

I too have several fitbit watches and the bands seem to be inferior. My latest watch is Charge 3 and the band is broken. Can that be replaced or do I just put in the drawer with the other retired fitbit watches.
