Charge 3 button broken? Can’t sync? Can’t restart?

I have had this Charge3 since Jan 24. And today the button has locked, not allowing me to restart, and the device keeps vibrating. I have taken the bands off and wiped everything down hoping the button would be free. 
This has happened two other times and usually wiping down the band attachments works.

Update after overnight charging it: still constantly vibrating and screen is a smiley face, unable to restart or sync.

 

is this for it useless? Do I need a new one?

I didn't and I don't think Fitbit has either. I raised a complaint through their chat channel and they informed that since you've exhausted all steps for troubleshooting and your device (Charge3) is out of warranty, the best we can give us is a 35% discount coupon.

 

I did some more research and found that on average Fitbits last somewhere around 2-3 years, probably more if you maintain them carefully. Since my device was 3+ years, I just ordered a new Charge5.
