Hi! My charge 3 is only 6 months old and yesterday it started buzzing and cycling through the menus by itself and turning itself on and off. I tried rebooting it and then it stopped on a screen showing only the Fitbit logo and 001. It would not respond to anything. This morning of course the battery is dead. I’ve put it on charge. I got the smiley face and then a single white line across the screen. It’s now stayed like this. Weird I know! Any ideas??

This recently happened to me. My Charge 3 would buzz and cycle, then the battery would die. I’d charge it, then it would happen again. I entered a comment in the Help forum and tried various troubleshooting suggestions, but none of them worked. The moderator gave me a link to contact the warranty department. They ended up replacing my Charge 3 (I was also given the choice of a discount code towards a new Fitbit product).

Many thanks for your reply! It’s particularly upsetting since this is the second Fitbit which has failed on me in less than a year! My previous one overheated when on charge.

At this time, I'm not sure what could have affected the performance of your Charge 3, but I'd recommend trying to perform a long restart to your Charge 3. A long restart is different than the basic restart and you can perform this, by following the instructions below:

Make sure to explain the inconvenience and mention the troubleshooting steps you've followed, this way they can assist you from there.

Hi, many thanks for your reply. I just tried what you suggested (in fact I videoed it). During the 15 seconds I was holding the button the charge 3 continued to cycle through menus. Finally the smiley face appeared but then it immediately started cycling again. I’ll contact support as you suggest. Thanks again

It wasn’t fixable. Fitbit are sending me a replacement. Quick live chat, couple of emails and all sorted. Direct replacement or a discount off another device.

Me, too.
I'm sitting here listening to it cycle.
It's been more than a year since they replaced my last one due to the screen not working.
So it looks like I'm going to have to pay for a new one.
Very frustrating.
