Hi, I've had my new Charge 3 Fitbit for about a week. Everything is set up properly, it's reading my heart rate, steps, daily calorie burn, I am also inputting my food.
The calorie burn during a HIIT workout or any other type of high intensity workout is far too low, it doesn't seem accurate at all. The most I have recorded is 238 calories and that was for a 45 minute workout where I was dripping with sweat.
It was recording my heart rate correctly because I kept checking it. I was dripping with sweat so no way this can be correct. Other HIIT workouts have only recorded around 150 calories for a 30 minute HIIT. I have read loads of other reviews on this - only wish I had read them before I purchased as this was the sole reason I got it to record an accurate calorie burn.
I wish I had spent the extra money on an Apple Watch! It's in the correct position on my wrist and I have done all of the other recommendations. So frustrating. Any help would be appreciated that isn't a suggestion of re-setting or adjusting the wrist position etc.

I understand how are you feeling and appreciate all the search you realized about calories. Fitbit devices combine your basal metabolic rate (BMR)—the rate at which you burn calories at rest to maintain vital body functions (including breathing, blood circulation, and heartbeat)—and your activity data to estimate your calories burned. If your device tracks heart rate, your heart-rate data is also included, especially to estimate calories burned during exercise. The number you see on your Fitbit device is your total calories burned for the day.
Your BMR is based on the physical data you entered in to your Fitbit account (height, weight, sex, and age) and accounts for at least half the calories you burn in a day. Because your body burns calories even if you’re asleep or not moving, you see calories burned on your device when you wake up and will notice this number increase throughout the day.
