Charge 3 cant connect to phone

When I am going for a walk, hike or anything where I connect my charge3 to my iPhone it will not connect. On the watch screen it says: “phone not found. Launch Fitbit app.”

but the app is open, and the charge3 is syncing fine. But it will not connect to the phone so I can get the gps maps. 

I have tried resetting the phone and the watch, and then it works a couple of times and then it’s back to: "phone not found”

Let me help you with your Charge 3 not syncing when using the GPS feature and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. I suggest you clear the link between your phone and your tracker by doing the following:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
