Charge 3 center of the screen is darker than the corners

I’m having an issue with the brightness of my Fitbit charge 3. The center of the screen is much darker than the corners. I tried rebooting several times to no avail. I received it as a gift in dec. 2020. I see multiple posts with the same issue from Charge 3s purchased around the same time. Hoping it is salvageable!

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @vstora.

I am sorry to hear about the issue you're experiencing with your Charge 3 screen. Thank you for trying to resolve this and providing the additional details. I understand how you are feeling and I am glad to help. I recommend trying the following:

  1. Confirm if your device's firmware is updated: How do I update my Fitbit device?
  2. Confirm the steps to restart the device: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
  3. Change a clock face: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?
  4. If the issue persists, perform a long restart:
  • Connect the device to the charging cable.
  • While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  • The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration
  • The device turns off.
  • The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  • Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  • Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

Let me know how it goes, I'll be around.

Rebooting has not helped. The screen has gotten worse and is fully black now.

Sadly I have exactly the same problem.  I have a very dark screen, tried all the steps detailed above and its now hardly readable.  My fitbit was also a gift last Christmas.   So Im thinking this might be an ongoing issue.

Thank you for joining the thread and sharing that you're experiencing the same issue with your device. I appreciate your troubleshooting efforts and the additional details. I recommend trying to change the brightness setting on your Charge 3: go to Settings > Brightness and change to Auto or On. Please also confirm that you don't have "Sleep Mode” turned on: press and hold the button on your device. Tap a setting to turn it off. For more information, see How do I navigate my Fitbit device's screen?

Keep me posted on the outcome.

My Charge 3 is doing the same thing.  I have tried all the fixes suggested and nothing helps. This is the second problem I have had with Charge 3. Somehow I don’t think 2 years use is worth the investment to purchase one. Is there anyway to fix this problem?

My fitbit doesn't have a working screen, since last night. It will vibrate, but nothing on the screen shows up. I tried these steps. I updated my Fitbit as well. I'm really bummed because I swim with it every single day and I have never had a problem with Fitbit.
