Charge 3 constantly vibrating and celebrating goals

Greetings.  I bought my Fitbit Charge 3 back in July and have been mostly pleased with it.  The two main things I am interested in tracking are my heartrate and my runs both of which the charge 3 have done pretty well.  Sometime in mid August, my Fitbit would start vibrating wildly complete with images of fireworks and a bird flying a banner to celebrate the "steps" I was taking.  This wouldn't be a problem were it not for the fact that it does it constantly with every "step" and movement (quotations used as it clearly is not tracking the steps accurately).  I had tried using both the "DND" and "sleep" setting to no avail.  I also tried both "soft" and hard reboots neither of which worked.  After calling customer service, they agreed to send me another device which I received yesterday.  I am having the same problem with the new device.  The only difference is that the "sleep" setting works to keep the device from celebrating every step (vibrating, flying birds, fireworks, etc).  The problem with the sleep setting is that the screen wake doesn't work when I turn my wrist up to view the time and the brightness is too low to view outside.  SO, is there some setting that I'm missing? Is it possible that I received a second device that is bunk?

Same after updating to firmware 28.20001.88.11 mine is constantly vibrating and celebrating goals with every step. Tried all the same hard reset, reinstall app, unpair. Makes the device unusable.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Fitbear44.

Thank you for joining the thread and sharing that you're experiencing the same issue with your tracker after updating the firmware. I appreciate your troubleshooting efforts and would like to confirm if you've followed these steps for a long restart:

  • Connect the device to the charging cable.
  • While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  • The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration
  • The device turns off.
  • The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  • Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  • Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

I had the same problem  and was sent a replacemnt Charge 3 about a month ago for a tracker that I bought on Black Friday last year. It worked fine until this morning when I put it on and the display would not come up.  It still tracks steps and syncs to my phone but no display. I am VERY disappointed with my FitBit experience beginning with the bad  band design of the original Charge that kept coming off and now these issues. I have been wearing a FitBit for several years and am going to switch to another tracker. The quality is just not there.

Hopefully customer service will help you out again to fix the problem.

I wish there was a way to downgrade the firmware everything was working
great before that.

hi @Bobshaw45 @Fitbear44 @Lifenut  I can see the problems you are facing but have you tried checking how much do you need to achieve your goals  because if you don't then it will keep vibrating...

pls reply back if worked or if you need steps the ask me for them on how to check
