My fitbit charge 3 did not work during my long walk today.

Is there a way to add steps into the daily goal?

This has happened before.  So annoying.

Hi there @Aline1958, welcome to the Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 3 didn't register your walk. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and letting me know that this wasn't the first time you experience the inconvenient.

While reading your post I was wondering how you track your exercises? Do you use the exercise mode (shortcuts on your tracker) or you use SmartTrack to automatically detect them?

As you know, SmartTrack recognizes activities based on the continuous movement of your arms. Sometimes, motions such as pushing a stroller while you walk, may interrupt SmartTrack.

Stopping in the middle of an exercise may interrupt the activity tracking. By default, SmartTrack recognizes an exercise that lasts at least 15 minutes. If your activities aren't being recognized, lowering the time auto-exercise recognition setting to 10 minutes may help ensure they record properly.

If your walk activity is not being recognized after lowering the Auto-Exercise Recognition setting. Note that we've found that some customers have a better experience with SmartTrack if they try wearing their tracker on a different wrist. In some cases, changing the wrist that you wear your tracker on can improve activity recognition.

Remember that if you change your wrist, you should also change your handedness setting.

About the steps you want to manually add, see the instructions provided here: How do I manually log exercises in the Fitbit app?

I'm looking forward to your response, keep me posted.

Thank you. It was more of a glitch than an ongoing issue. Sometimes when I take my FB out of the charger it doesn’t start up again. So I’ll check it from now on. Appreciate knowing how to manually add.

Thank you

Thank you Maria, I was able to add my activity.  At first it was difficult to find the + button, as I needed to scroll down more than expected. Thank you again.  Keep on Walking!!!
