Charge 3 died and won't start

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Having used my new charge 3 for less than a week, I started having issues today. When I took it off my hand, the green light at the back didn't stop flashing. I couldn't turn it on with touchscreen. I thought maybe battery has gone flat and I plugged in the charger, it vibrated, restarted it and got smiley face. It was ok for few hours and then it started vibrating non stop until it died and turned off. I was unable to switch it on since then. It doesn't charge, doesn't vibrate when trying to connect to the charger - but it gets very hot after leaving it for few minutes on the charger. I followed instructions to try to restart it but no luck. Has it just died permanently or is there anything I can do?

Has this ever been fixed? Mine just did it to me. Got it around the first of June - it's mid August and it just buzzed, got hot and died. Light on the back is off.

Happy to report that I found the online chat and they sent me a prepaid label to return it and they'll send a new one.

Your problem sounds familiar. You need to keep reminding them that it’s
not working correctly and they will try and debug which, if like mine was
unsuccessful and they replaced it under warranty. Best of luck. You will
need the straps off your existing one for any new one.

Try pushing in the button on the side and holding it for a while. Then I
used another port on my computer to recharge and let it do that for an hour.
I spoke with Fitbit support and they walked me right through it. Not a long
wait time on the phone and Ingrid was very helpful (877) 623-4997

I called Fitbit support and Ingrid was able to solve the problem in less than 5 minutes and without replacing my watch.  Used a new computer port to recharge and got it going!  Very helpful!

There is a chat available on the Fitbit website. I communicated with a representative, who sent a prepaid label through my email.  They are replacing it. Give it a try. Sent from Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

Yes, involve Fitbit as there seems to be a reliability issue with the
Fitbit 3 and I suspect Fitbit is aware of it and hopefully has debugged the
issue and solved the problem on a new design.

I got in touch with a Fitbit rep who was able to resolve my issue in no
time. Have you called them?

As soon as I get the smiley face and remove from charger, it dies again. Could the battery be fried?

Call the Fitnit service desk.  They walked me through a process that revived mine.Sent via the Samsung Galaxy S9, an AT&T 5G Evolution capable smartphone

Hi and thank you for taking the time to respond.  I did get through to the chat line, and we were unable to revive it, so awaiting an email from Fitbit giving me options.  I did beg them to not make me buy an Apple watch.

Try changing the clock face. You should see a white "in process" line across the screen. This resets the device. Then of course you can change it back to your preference. Hope this helps.

My Fitbit Charge 3 died as well after 4 months. I cannot wake it up even after following all the suggested steps. I chatted and was told that it is out of warranty and there is nothing that can be done about it. Pathetic
