Charge 3 died and won't start

Having used my new charge 3 for less than a week, I started having issues today. When I took it off my hand, the green light at the back didn't stop flashing. I couldn't turn it on with touchscreen. I thought maybe battery has gone flat and I plugged in the charger, it vibrated, restarted it and got smiley face. It was ok for few hours and then it started vibrating non stop until it died and turned off. I was unable to switch it on since then. It doesn't charge, doesn't vibrate when trying to connect to the charger - but it gets very hot after leaving it for few minutes on the charger. I followed instructions to try to restart it but no luck. Has it just died permanently or is there anything I can do?

Yeaaaah.....I'd like to say it worked....sure. Fitbit3 on again, off again. Not a good track record I see. This model appears to be a lemon. If you know how to get it on, please tell. I see no consistency in the posts! I also see that the glitches affect the app...hmmmmm....

Thanks for the "blank" on the blank screen. No help there! The problem began for me at the start of the update, and now the device will no connect at all!

I just went through the exact same thing! Died last night (woke me up randomly buzzing). This morning, nothing. Tried restart, tried charge, nothing. Hot to the touch when I leave it on the charger. I've had it since Christmas. Any help? How do I go about a warranty claim?

I just contacted customer support with another issue -- I used the chat
option -- and they were very helpful. They're sending me a new fitbit.

I have the same problem now for the 2nd Fitbit they send me. There is NO solution when it is dead like that, all their solved answers are BS. They send me a 3rd Fitbit in August and it was ok until now but it has started to show the same symptoms and I expect it will soon die too. If they don’t send me another one I am done with Fitbit, never again!

I've had my charge 3 for about a year and a half. It just died and won't restart. I tried plugging it in and holding the button down. It started and then died again.

It was eventually replaced. Turns out that not cleaning the little charging
terminals can eventually lead to a short that will kill it for good. If you
get a new one, clean the oils off the back every so often.

Submitted content: Yes once mine did it it started doing it often… But attach your charger and plug it in, and then hold the side button in until you see a smiley face. It may take 60 seconds or so… That reset mine multiple times over several months, and now unfortunately my battery is only lasting about one day or less. So not sure how to resolve that, maybe it’s time for a new one but that’s unfortunate. Best wishes!

It seems that the device has a bad quality every one has the same problem, dead fitbit not working, i even tried to sync it and it didn’t work !! 
the app show me the battery level but nothing on my device 😂

I have the same problem, same symptoms and the thing has now died on me completely.  Have only had it 4 months.

Mine was still cover by the guarantee and they replace it, along with the straps that had broken.

It wasn’t the fastest first response, but once the thread started, it was quite quick.

Hope you manage to get yours replaced as well.

My charge 3 has gone blank screen on me. it vibrates if i try the reset on the charger but even after multiple tries its not restarting and now theres no green lights either. 

I rely on my fitbit so please help.

You could try changing the clock face in the app. It worked for me, when it's gone black, but still vibrates

Hi Annelii,

The Fitbit won’t connect to my app. All I get from it is the fully charged
sign, lots of vibrations and then a strait horizontal line. That’s when it
is on charge, off charge just a blank screen.

Hm.. that seems like its loading something in to your watch. 
Have you tried to update it earlier? (Before the problem started)

 

do you have connection alright, using wifi, bluetooth and gps?
(Im no expert.)

Have you tried to talk to fitbit on twitter @fitbitsupport? Dm them, and maybe they can help.
