Before the last update, raising my arm would trigger the display, and I could see the time and date and my steps at a glance. Since the update, I have to tap the screen to see anything. When my hands are full, this is not possible, so I have to set everything down, to tap. Why did it stop? I've reset it, and done everything I can think to do, and it's still not working. Also, the setting on the computer dashboard to have it do that is no longer there. Why??

Hi there @Lightsinger, thanks for coming back! As mentioned here, Press and hold the side button to access the Quick Settings and Notifications screen. Tap Screen Wake to adjust the setting. 😉
As per the description of your post, it seems that you're going to the Settings on your Charge 3 instead of pressing and holding the side button.
Give this another go and let me know if this time it works. I'll be around!

Hi @Lightsinger, although I don't know why the Screen Wake isn't working for you anymore automatically, have you checked the settings on the Charge 3 to make sure that the Screen Wake setting is on Automatic? Just swipe to the "Settings" on the Charge 3, scroll down to "Screen Wake" and then select "Automatic".

There is no setting for Screen Wake in my settings on the Charge 3. Can't find it in the app either. Not only doesn't mine always wake when I lift my arm, but sometimes it takes multiple taps to get it to wake. Not very handy when you're on the move or have your hands full.

Hello @Klbe62 and @Lightsinger, thanks for stopping by and for reporting this.
I'd recommend trying what @DramaQueenDiva. If you noticed feature stopped working after the last firmware update on your Fitbit device. On Charge 3, make sure Screen Wake is turned on. Press and hold the side button. For Fitbit Pay-enabled devices, swipe right to access the Quick Settings screen. Tap Screen Wake to adjust the setting.
If the option is enable, I'd recommend turning it off, restart your device and then, turn it back on by following provided above.
Give this a go and let us know the outcome.

My Fitbit now appears to be working. I did not know about the extra hold of the button to get the other menu. I wish that was clearer on the instructions, but I appreciate you're letting me know about it.

This only turns it on and off...no adjustment of activation by raising arm or screen time allowed/Pressing the side button as you say

I am having issues with being able to even select screen wake. I have tapped it multiple times. It will not turn on. Everything else is working. I can select DND, and sleep but can not select screen wake. I have no idea what else to do other than say screw it and press the button when i want to see the display. it's truly ridiculous the amount of problems your coders are making to force users to upgrade. I'll go to garmin before i put up with this much longer. Fitbit used to be a product to be proud of. Now that google took ownership it's gone down hill. It's frustrating beyond words.

Hello everyone. @EDohme Welcome to the community forums.
Thank you for the detailed information and for the troubleshooting steps you've followed. If the Charge 3 screen is dim, please make sure that it hasn't gone into sleep mode. When the sleep mode setting is on:
To change this, press and hold the button, and swipe left to access the quick settings screen. Tap a setting to turn it on or off. When you turn off the setting, the icon appears dim with a line through it. For more information, see How do I navigate my Fitbit device?
Note that you can also adjust the screen wake setting in the quick settings on your Charge 3.
