Hi my new charge 3 is blank and when I charge it and try to restart it using the side button it just vibrates with a blank screen.

Put it on charger, then press and hold side button for 8 to 10 seconds until happy face appears.

Fab tip about putting it on charge then pressing the button. Now works. Still a bit cross that it did this. Never had a problem with my Charge HR or Fitbit 2!!!! Thanks again. Jenni

First try plugging into charging cable and hold side button in for 8
seconds. If that doesn't work, plug in and hold side button for 15 seconds,
let go, unplug and plug back in. Mine was still vibrating when plugged in
but the screen wouldn't work. Support had me go into the app, change the
clock face and then sync. At that point mine worked.

Hey @Csreed1017@gvi66 and @JAM48, it's great to hear that your trackers are now working properly. If there is anything else we can help you with, do not hesitate to post it.

@ppockets, I appreciate the input and @BrendaMD, if you haven't tried changing your tracker's clock face, I recommend trying this by following the instructions provide in the help article How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?.

Let me know how it goes. Man Happy

Appreciate the solution. But (a big one), I ask myself why is this happening to so many. And I can only think this is a design flaw that Fitbit should have/are addressing. This is not a $20/$50 or even $100 toy. After 2 that just would not reboot with anything but a black screen, I am switching to Garmin. Sorry Fitbit; had the Zip, moved up to the Alta & never had issues. Oh, and an aside. Watching the news and a tidbit about Apple working on? manufacturing a new watch that monitors carbon monoxide? If I heard right (was not in the room) my thought was, why on earth? If you really want to come out with cutting edge (and apparently the technology, although new is out there) come up with a tracker that monitors glucose! Any idea how many diabetics are out here? After 20 yrs of poking my fingers I'd run back to you (or whoever) can produce a quality product that monitors glucose and prevents 4/day finger poking. Thanks for listening!

I believe it may be related to the most recent software update...mine had no problem till after this update.

I did this and it worked!! I was really worried after I went kayaking with it on today at the beach and it stopped working knowing it was not the battery life. I was worried the salt got to it! Thanks again!

My Charge 3 is doing the same thing.  This is the third time.  The other two times I disconnected it and started over but this time the screen won’t come back to life at all.  It vibrates but no screen.  Do I send it back? I got it in October.

I’ve got the same problem with my Charge 3.  The restart doesn’t work unfortunately.  Hope Support will come back to me with a solution.

Vibrates but no screen is what I had. I changed the clock face in the app
and it works again. Wow third time, tho. Not good, I've only had mine a
month.

Just happened to me too.   Black screen but would vibrate when I pressed the button.  Was going to try the charging fix tonight when I got home but changing the clock face fixed it.   First time it's happened.  Hope its the last as mine is out of warranty.

Plug it in and while it is on the charger hold down the side button for ten
to 15 seconds. A smiley face should appear and then it should work. Has
happened to me twice now.

I’m having the same problem and restarting it is not helping. It was working fine then suddenly the screen stopped working. It still vibrates and even does some notifications like when I got a phone call, but the screen is always black. What should I do?
