Hi my new charge 3 is blank and when I charge it and try to restart it using the side button it just vibrates with a blank screen.

Welcome on board @MFH7575, it's nice to see you around here! As my friends @Itg12 and @SunsetRunner suggested, since the restart did not work, but your tracker is still vibrating and syncing I'd recommend changing the current clock face. Let us know if that works for you!

Thanks for jumping in here @Itg12! I'm glad to hear that you're back on track. Thanks for sharing the outcome with us. Have a nice day! Woman Very Happy

Thank you!   I was having the same issue.  Attaching to the charger and holding the button down worked for me...although I had to do it twice.

I have had my Fitbit Charge 3 for a few weeks. My first issue was the charger not working, I returned to the shop it was purchased from and they swapped the charger, which was totally different- probably why the first one didn’t work. Yesterday afternoon the screen stopped working, vibrates when I touch the side button, but no display. I’ve charged overnight and still nothing!

Im really disappointed as loved my Fitbit charge 2, but had screen cracked twice in heat, so updated it

Hi MelinNorfolk,

Same issue as I had regarding nothing after charging.
First thing I would say is avoid allowing it to discharge completely.
After charging, while the charger is still attached, press the button the
side and hold until a horizontal line appears on the screen. This will be
followed by a smiley face.
It should power up after this and hopefully you will be back in business.
I've had no issues since.
Best of luck, MJB10

Thanks for the advice, I’ve given that a go, but I’m still getting nothing. It had plenty of battery left, I’d only charged it at the weekend, and hadn’t received a notification telling me the battery was low. I think it may be a rogue one!
Thankyou again for taking the time to reply 😊

Hi @Chick268@wagguf61@Lilpond, and @Santapod! So happy to hear you're back on track now. Woman Very Happy

Hello @MJB10! Thanks so much for helping out and sharing what worked for you.

Welcome on board @MelinNorfolk! Sorry to hear that your Charge 3 is still not working. While reading your posts I couldn't see if you've tried changing the clock face on your tracker? Since your tracker is vibrating and it has plenty of battery left, in case that the restart hasn't worked I'd recommend trying to change the clock face. Give this a shot and let me know if that works!

Same here. Blank screen. Just vibrates when holding down the button. Held down for 8 seconds, got another vibration - nothing.

Solution ?

I just changed the clock face on the app, and it’s started working.
Can’t say I’m greatly pleased with the solution myself, as that’s more of a workaround. But I now have the screen back.
Try that 👍🏻

It needs to be plugged in while you hold the side button. Also, you have
to wait until you see the smiley face. Then it should work. Good luck!

Hi, seems like a major software glitch. Maybe Fitbit dollars would be better spent on fixing this issue than advertising?! I started with a Zip, then Alta and last the Charge 3. I miss my Charge, but after the second one experienced the same issue, and the money I spent on 2 beautiful replacement bands, I am going to switch to a Garmin.

Hi guys, hope you are doing well.

I appreciate the help in this @ColtBurkhardt.

@DianaSart@Gilcole and @SunsetRunner, I am glad to hear that your trackers are now working properly. If there is anything else we can help you with, do not hesitate to post it.

@pajija, I am sorry to hear that you will be getting another tracker. If in the future there is anything we can help you with, do not hesitate to post it.

@Mary581961, if you are experiencing this issue too, I recommend restarting the tracker. If the restart process doesn't work, perform a long restart:

  • Plug the device into the charging cable.
  • While the device is plugged into the charging cable, hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  • Remove your finger from button. Note: Device won't have a smiley face icon and should be off with a black screen.
  • Remove the device from the charging cable.
  • Plug the device into the charging cable again.
  • The smiley face icon appears on the screen.

If these steps don't work, change your clock face by following the instructions provide in the help article How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?.

See you around. Smiley Happy
