Charge 3 display won't turn on

Hi my new charge 3 is blank and when I charge it and try to restart it using the side button it just vibrates with a blank screen.

Got my Charge 3 on June 25th, today the screen has gone black and none of the fixes has worked.  I've changed the clock face a few times, tried rebooting it.  It's still connecting, it vibrates, but the screen has gone black.  😞

Mine as well. I have had several issues back to back with this thing.

I had a Zip before this but I lost it. I loved that thing but apparently Fitbit no longer sells simply pedometers anymore. I could buy one on Amazon for like $160 so I decided to go with this for about the same price.

 

Currently my charge 3 has a black screen, but it vibrates when I touch the button. If I try the long restart, after 8 seconds or less, the smiley face comes on. Leaving it plugged in or unplugging it makes no difference...it always leads back to the black screen. After several attempts to do the long restart, nothing happens but a vibration when I press and hold the button. After a few minutes the smiley face returns.

I cannot attempt changing the clock face because it is no longer synced with my phone and I cannot resync it until I get the screen to turn on.

 

This has been a very difficult and repetitious cycle these last couple weeks. Really hoping you can impart some wisdom or some kind of solution because I'm about at my wit's end here.

I tried this solution for my Charge 3 and did not work. My Charge 3 was working perfectly one minute then I look down and it was a blank screen. It was at 88% charge last time I checked on it which was half an hour before it turned off. I went to plug it in and nothing happened, it didn't vibrate, the screen just stayed black. I thought maybe the battery died so I kept it plugged in for 2 hours, nothing happened, it just got really warm. I tried to press the button on the side in hopes to restart it, but again nothing happens, just a black screen. I don't know what to do. What is the next step?  This the second time it has done this.  The first time the resolution worked.

I would call customer service and ask them if you can send it back for a replacement. That was what I ultimately did. I think they know there are problems with these so they seem more willing to take care of it if all the "fixes" don't work.

My Charge 3 won't turn on. I did all of the steps suggested. I do not know what else to do. Even while I am holding it for the 15 seconds the vibration stops before I can count to 15, I take it off of charge and put it back on and nothing. I changed the clock face and nothing. I had uninstalled it before all of this thinking that was the issue so my fitbit isn't even installed on my app. What do I do? I have only had this one for 2 weeks and I am so irritated to spend that kind of money for this to happen. Help.. please.. Donna

I am having the same problems, black face, won’t connect to my phone, can’t change clock face since it won’t connect to my phone. When I put my Charge 3 on the charger and hold the button in it vibrates for about 8 seconds but nothing else happens. I’ve tried everything that everyone has suggested on this form and nothing is working. I took my working charge 3 off, took a shower, put it back on, and nothing. This happened about 15 hours ago. I messed with for quite awhile last night, left it off the charger and didn’t wear it overnight, tried all the suggestions again this morning, and still there is nothing. Please HELP!!!

Have done EVERYTHING recommended to no avail including watch face change!   My unit is working IN EVERY WAY including syncing, sleep tracking et al BUT BLACKOUT DISPLAY!!

I have tried the eight seconds and fifteen second suggestions.  Nada, nope, nothing.  The Charge 3 is less than 3 months old.  I have had three Charge 2s with no problems.

Just call Fitbit tell them your issue and they will send you a new one. Mine is on its way.

I did just that and in fact just received my replacement unit yesterday. It seems that this is not an uncommon problem and Fitbit realizes that if they are in fact sending out replacements

Hard restart didn't work  nothing works  I am so disgusted I am thinking of getting anything but a fitbit.  Mine is less than a year old.

Resolved?  How is doing a reset a solution?  Why is the screen going blank in the first place?

I have tried all of this to no avail.   Long resets, short restarts,  clock faces.   Tracker is counting steps but watch face does not work.  At least a week now.

I’d message Fitbit and let them know what’s going on. They have been
pretty good about replacing the ones that don’t works

Same happened to me today, a 1-year old fitbit charge 3, simply will not turn on. Tried all the various reset techniques and screen changing suggestions but nothing is working.
