Hi my new charge 3 is blank and when I charge it and try to restart it using the side button it just vibrates with a blank screen.

Found the SOLUTION: change the clock face. Then you can apply back your favorite clock face if you want, but that change wakes the display up.
EDIT: however I still cannot update the firmware.
EDIT 2: I removed my charge 3 from the app, then couldn't add it back. The window would appear and disappear quickly, just like when I was trying to update the firmware. So I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. Everything is fine now. I was able to add my charge 3 and it's now updating the firmware.

My fitbit Charge 3 is doing the same thing. When I touch the button, it vibrates and the screen stays dark. Also, it won't sync with my phone now and I can'd download the update dates.

Same issue and it wont even let me restart it. Getting frustrated had it less than a week.

I had this exact problem. My screen suddenly wouldn’t turn on, and pressing the side button would make it vibrate but nothing would happen. It was at about 70%. Looked on this forum for answers and tried to follow the steps on restarting my charge 3. I plugged it in to my wall charger, pressed the button for 8 seconds. Nothing. Left it on the charging cable overnight and tried the button again. Nothing. IT WASN’T UNTIL I took the fitbit off the cable and off my wrist for about 24 hours until it was completely dead, then plugged it in to charge that I got the smiley face and it successfully restarted.

I got mine October 13th, had no problem until today. Was sitting at my computer just watching videos & noticed my screen wouldn't light up. Pressed the side button & would just vibrate. Checked my phone & it won't sync. I hooked it up to my charger & did the 8 second press until the smiley face came on but nothing happened after that, still won't light up & still won't sync. I've had no problems until now & had no problems like this with my charge 2. Sounds like we have a lemon on our hands.

I contacted support for mine, they are sending me a replacement. I suggest you contact support too.

I found a fix online and it has been working for me. I put it on the charger and let it set for awhile. Then push the side button until the screen lights up. Hopefully this will help.

Just purchased my Charge 3 yesterday, 11/25/18. Fully charged. Now the display is blank and will not turn on. I have been reading the review and find that a lot of folks are having this same issue. Bad purchase. I want to return this.

Ive had my fitbit for only a couple of days and its already unresponsive and doesnt turn on when I press on the button on the left. It turns on and off when it wants to the Screen wake and notification screen then proceeds to go blank after a couple of seconds. I am very disappointed that I was very excited to get this device and it is already having problems. I have tried to hold the button down for 8 seconds and that didnt work.

Had mine since the launch, my alarm went off and now the screen won't turn on
Tried the update clock face but the install failed and now it just says clock error, can't install or select any other clock face
