Charge 3 distance information inaccurate

I've had my Charge 3 for awhile now and this issue just started this week. Last year my goal was to walk five miles a day and so I know a mile is approximately 2,500 of my steps. Yesterday I had over 13,000 steps and barely hit four miles.

Today I am over 10,000 steps and am at 1.57 miles. There is no way this is accurate. My friend and mother are also having issues with their Fitbit. Was there a bad update or something? How can I correct my distances?

Fitbit devices calculate distance based on the device’s accelerometer data and stride length setting. Default stride length is based on your height and gender. If available, Fitbit devices use GPS data to calculate more precise distances. When you sync your device, our algorithm interprets the data from the device, and you see your distance traveled in the Fitbit app.

Note that when you track an exercise with GPS, both GPS and accelerometer data are used to calculate the distance shown in the Fitbit app. For more information about this, you can check the following help articles:

I have the same problem. My Charge 2 was accurate. Both mine and my husband's Charge 3 are recording almost double the distance. Firmware and updates are current. Profile data is correct. Stride length is automatic.  What must I do?
