So after the debacle that was the Charge 4, I came back to the trusty Charge 3.......NOT!
My connected GPS runs are constantly understated, my usual running routes of 5.03km and 8.1km have been coming up as 4.37km and 7.58km. I tried using Strava and the Google Fit apps on the same routes and they came pretty close at 5.08km and 8.15km on Strava and 5.05km and 8.09km on Google Fit all with GPS
I then tried something else, I exported the "7.58km" into Strava and did the "Save a route option" Strava immediately analysed the route and came back with a total of 8.03km which is also within the ball park of where I felt the route was.
Only Fitbit is off by almost 1/2 a km which is shocking especially as it is using the GPS from the phone. I have read people say the issue is with the app and not the tracker. Has anyone else had this issue?

It's great to see you around, @SunsetRunner.
I appreciate the information provided. Fitbit devices calculate distance based on the device’s accelerometer data and stride length setting.
Default stride length is based on your height and gender. If available, Fitbit devices use GPS data to calculate more precise distances. When you sync your device, our algorithm interprets the data from the device, and you see your distance traveled in the Fitbit app.
Note that when you track an exercise with GPS, both GPS and accelerometer data are used to calculate the distance shown in the Fitbit app. For more information about accuracy, check the article: How accurate are Fitbit devices?.
Let me know the outcome.
